Running away from melee, but still getting hit

Greetings

It might just be me who has a weird standard, but I seriously hate that melee attacks are like a sticky bomb. They ready their attack, you run 200 meters away, and you still get hit.

I HATE IT

Discuss.

Edit. Basically, if an enemy is executing a melee, while you are running away, the distance wont cancel out the attack.

I was just exaggerating on the distance :P But if I kite world bosses with bow, they can still hit me from a pretty far distance, and I do experience Kwama being able to charge their regular melee while Im sprinting with Major Expedition, that they still hit me while flying away.
