Does "While Ability is Slotted" Caveat include Ultimates?

Some passives require an ability from that line to be slotted. Does it count if you have that skill line's ultimate slotted?
For example, if you are a Templar, and you use Empowering Sweep, does that count as having "While Aedric Spear Ability is Slotted"?
