SO the welcome back weekend did a good job at getting me into this game. my question is if I buy this now can I transfer my character to my PS4 in june? or is that just for players who been around for longer then a few months?

Nope. You had to have bought the game as of 6/30/2014 or earlier.
Essentially there's almost a whole year gap between this, which I find ridiculous.
They've patched a lot of my initial issues with the game and removed the overpriced subscription model. Now that I'm genuinely interested in coming back I doubt I will because I won't be able to transfer.
I may pick up the game when it releases on console, but I'm still not entirely sold.1 -
