I adore the music, but if you're really craving something different, shut the music off and play soundtracks from your other games. Even I do it sometimes. I love turning on the LotRO inn music in a tavern. WoW's Tanaris (classic) is perfect for the Alik'r. Pretty much the entire scores to Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. Mix and match. Have fun. No reason to be bored with the music (which is awesome and I still play 99% of the time).

Lol, even if I could, I wont be alt+tabbing and tunning acordingly everytime I want the background music suiting "my needs". Lol.. dont be silly.. thats not an answer.
I do agree that the music is great tho. But I can already feel it looping, and that is just not so cool. :)

I didn't know I was being "silly" or that alt-tabbing was so difficult. ;)

    Breton- central European folk music.

Why central European folk music when the Bretons are more synonymous with those of the British Isles? :o

This is kind of a 'first world problem', and also music is a matter of personal taste,
but this bothers me for some reason.

all the zones in ESO sound the same to me.
I have finished all the EP zone, and started DC zone on my main, and i also have an AD character.
The music in the game is nice and lovely, but it doesn't define the zone I am in.
the music style is the same everywhere. I cant guess by the music style in which zone I am.

just for the sake of an example, lets take WOW.
you could know immediately in which zone you are by the music in the zone, the sound track was very distinctive and it was a major part of the mood of the zone.

    for example:
    silverpine forest:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxWxkXXJZ4I
you had the chills just listening to the music...

    ashenvale
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLkuUuXSTs8

    howling fjord:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85JLNFc4eT4

    etc...

I was expecting something more style/race defined, for example...
Nord maps have some kind of germanic opera music style ( flight of the valkeries etc)
Argonians - central american tribal music style.
    Redguard - middle eastern/desert style.
    Breton- central European folk music.
    Altmer- Italian baroque music style.
Bosmer- lord of the dance music style.
Orcs - african tribal music with tamtams etc or maybe mongolian nomadic music.

but instead we have this neo classical elevator music across all the zones, kinda boring....
it is also sad that Zos probably will not invest to change the music for the zones.

I was just thinking about this like 3 days ago. Yes, the music needs to fit the zone. That's why I loved solstheim dlc in skyrim. The music brought back so many good memories. Solstheim was a huuuuge cultural change from skyrim lol, it was epic.

Much as I love the music in ESO, I really do think keeping some soundtracks in certain zones would increase the overall immersion for every player :)

It does lack a bit of atmosphere (the music).

I think newer zones have a bit more distinct music, i like it.

I truly enjoy the music in ESO but I have also found turning it completely off (or at a lower volume than the rest of the sound) actually offers a different type of immersion. The game is a lot more ambient and for me, it pulls me a lot more into the environment and the entire game is much more relaxing. You hear so many finer details and audio ques that are normally drowned out by the music. Being that music is a powerful tool that drives emotion and the feel, it can also take away from the experience just as much as it can give (depending on the music itself of course). So, at the moment I have been playing with music completely off over the last month and much prefer it that way still. If anyone wants to try it out, my balanced audio settings I've tweaked over time:

I completely agree with you. I have mentioned this before but it has proved to be an unpopular opinion. I have music turned off because most of it is so generic and dreary. I have 15 or so tracks which i play in the background depending on the vibe of the zone i am in.

All boils down to taste i suppose, but it does’nt really of course....
