Some of my chars can get caught stealing by a non guard npc, and get the bounty but don't get a negative status. Even killing still no bad status. I still get stopped by the guard for the bounty but with no status they don't really chase me if I run or seek me out. There is no status indicator appearing on the lower right at all.
As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.

Sounds like a bug you should report. You can do this in game, if you did not know, with '/bug'

I personally have never experienced this.

I've had it happen where it takes a min or two for my new criminal status to update. Also I can change into stolen cloths right in front of a guard and they just stare at me blankly. The newest patch has increased the lag spikes to an annoying level.

Been checking and testing, this has nothing to do with lag or latency. My lv vr 3 char and my lv 32 char don't get the status of disreputable anymore it seems, and they don't get the indicator at the low right side of the screen, all the rest of my chars do.

I am wondering if there is a game mechanic that I am forgetting or a settings that I havent found. Disabling addons don't seem to make a difference.

Its not really a big glitch, I just have to remember to keep checking my character screen by hitting c to check if I have a bounty or not.

All I have to do is look at a lockbox sideways and I am Disreputable.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
