Tags or relevant signs over npc merchants or craftsmen?

Is there any way to toggle some kind of sign on npc merchants or craftsmen (like a shield icon over a armourers head) without personally checking them all or remembering every merchant? I find it really tiring to try to find correct merchants all the time, since you can't know them without coming real close. It is especially wrong in hideouts where all npc stand behind same kind of desk and map does not even show me which merchant is what.

First of all, the merchants have a title for their job. If you mouse over a blacksmith it will say blacksmith under his name. You don't need to be all that close to see it.

Secondly, I setup my health bars so I could more easily see who is an NPC and who is a player. I've enabled friendly NPC healthbars and left player healthbars at when injured. That way, when I go into a crowded merchant area or bank, the only people with healthbars above their heads are the NPCs I need to interact with.

I know that merchants have a title if you click them. But you will need to know which character is the merchant. Not all npcs are merchants. Game has tons of flavour npcs that just stand there. Since all npcs, merchants and players look the same it is tiring. Just having the job name hovering over the merchant or cratfman will make it very easier instead of clicking all the npcs. That way you will easily recognize that npc's profession when you look it. Very simple but effective.

You don't have to click anything, just hover your crosshairs over the NPC and look at the top of your screen.

Npc stalls already have signs over them corresponding to their craft... And as soon as you mouse over them, you see their title.

Is OP trying to sell equipment based on the NPCs profession? Like selling heavy armor to armorers, cloth/leather to clothiers and bows/staves to woodcrafters?

You don't gotta do all that man, you can sell anything to anyone cuz they all want your junk.

Set it up to show health bars for all NPCs. Important NPCs such as Merchants will have a Green bar over them, non-essential NPCs will have a Yellow bar over them. There will be few NPCs with Green bars and mousing over them at long range even will tell you what kind of Merchant etc they are. TES games want you to take time to interact with all NPCs and get immersed in your setting. Some people may not like it, but it's the game design.
