Spike in legendary mats since patch?

Since the last patch, refining is producing maybe 5x the legendary mats as compared to pre-patch. Normally I would chalk it up to RNG. However, the spike has been huge and I have refined quite a but of material while searching for fortified nirncrux.

Anyone else experiencing a large difference?

They said it will be 5% prob for yellow mats. Perhaps this is what you see.

I can never tell with RNG. Some days she likes me, some days she hates me, some days she does not care. RNG is a fickle mistress.

You can get Fortified Nirncrux from refiining?! I have gotten many gold mats from refining, both pre and post Update 6, but never nirncrux. I have only gotten that from voidstone/void bloom/nightwood nodes in Upper Craglorn. The drop rate from refining must be tiny. I have gotten maybe 15 nirncrux from Upper Crag nodes, but 0 from refining.

You can get Fortified Nirncrux from refiining?! I have gotten many gold mats from refining, both pre and post Update 6, but never nirncrux. They were farming in upper Craglorn, looking for Nirncrux drops from nodes most likely. They never said they got a Nirn from refining.

With the linked information about the new 9 trait sets coming with the release of the Imperial city. The price of Nirn has increased alot.

I will let you know when I refine 1000 ore and I get more than 2. Because that is what I have been getting consistently since 1.6 to just before this past Monday's patch.

No change. Refined 5500 mats and legendary drop rate in this batch was 4,5%.

Here are my results from today... they are pretty much the same results I have been getting consistently thus proving they have not increased the changed to receive Gold tempers from refining for blacksmithing.

1200 - Quicksilver Ore
1020 - Refined Quicksilver Ingots
3 - Tempering Alloy
6 - Grain Solvent
15 - Dwarven Oil
23 - Honning Stone


1000 - Mahogany Ore
858 - Refined Sanded Mahogany
6 - Rosin
7 - Mastic
20 - Turpin
16 - Pitch



Refining Woodworking and Clothing ALWAYS gives me twice+ as many gold tempers than what Blacksmithing is giving me so I really do not think this is an RNG issue.

There was 5% before 1.6 and in patch notes it said the drop rate was "significantly increased". It is still 5% now.
