How big will the queues be this weekend?

This upcoming weekend is the free trial weekend for Beta players who never purchased the game. There were 26 campaigns during the last two Beta weekends prior to the game's release last year.

Are the queues going to be insufferable this weekend given how ZOS publicized that over 5 million Beta keys were distributed? Or will we only see a slight increase due to the likelihood that most of the Beta players who enjoyed the game have already purchased and played it?

I don't think we'll see that much if any increase this weekend. Anyone who wanted to come back after it went B2P, already did in March.

There might be those that did not buy the game that played beta and did not due to a sub, so those players can check it out.

The queues will only be big because of us all climbing over each other to rush in and welcome the open alpha players
"it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days." - Matt Firor

If I may put my "if they did it right" hat on, the console megaservers are sitting right next to the live megaserver and are already in place for any scale beta that they will be doing. If they did it right, the beta servers for each console are just sitting there ready to be used on live to ensure enough capacity.

They can repurpose them as console servers following the WBW.

Easy solution would be to just add a new non-vet campaign that only lasts for those days.

I'm sure they did. I just hope it isn't something that a lot of us say "why the hell didn't you do this before?".

From a PR standpoint that might be best..although they finally did fix the lighting issue with Farragut Keep. That might impress a few "returnees".

seriously? you might have a solution to the Queues but you're only going to wheel them out to impress possible returners?

will this be a permanent "thing"? or just something shiny to attract new players.

Please dont get me wrong, IF you do have a workable solution then great, anything that means that i don't have to wait 50 minutes to join friends in Thorn (EU), is good, but the '..fix is on its way.. ' & '..we're listening to you guys'..' is starting to run a bit thin now.

I expect they will add more non-vet campaigns. People that played in beta, assuming they didn't buy the game as well, will not have vet-ranked characters since all beta characters were wiped. The low level zones and non-vet campaign(s) will be bumpin' like it was around launch. Just wish I had a non-vet char in the 40s to take advantage of all the fresh meat...
