Inspiration should count towards Champion Points

Unless I am missing something, the only thing inspiration is good for is leveling a skill line but with the new Champion system I think it should count for more.

Some of you VR14s will have to correct me on this if I'm wrong, but I believe if you are at a max level VR14 the XP you would earn still counts towards Champion points.

If this is the case then why cant Inspiration be counted towards CP as well? I think it would allow every type of game play to account for something.

Seriously, take crafting writs for example: you get 20,000 Inspiration for completing the writ to Craglorn but anyone who does crafting has already maxed out the skill line by the time they get there and the Inspiration is wasted. If it were 20,000 points toward CP it would still take a while to get a CP doing only this, but at least it would count for something. Not to mention an excuse to learn new weapons and armor skill lines for maxed out characters as you would also earn points toward CP leveling the new skills as well.

If it is suppose to already work this way then I think it is broken for me.

You also get XP's from writs, so they do count towards CP's. They're not grand, but they are there.

If you use add ons (FTC, etc), you should see it. If not, just look at your CP bar (upper left via character screen) before and after.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

Considering that there is a passive in the Tower tree that increases Inspiration gain, this would be a very bad idea.

What about continuing to use the same skill lines once they are maxed out? Where does that inspiration go?

Maybe Crafting writs weren't the best example but I think if they want a simpler system, and the fact that there are so many CP to choose from, it would be simpler if XP and inspiration both counted towards them.

I have never seen XP from crafting an item, but you get a ton from opening a chest or cracking a lock, yet neither are combat or quest related.

The option to pick between the two might be cool?

Along with provisioning , the easiest skill to grind out inspiration, You would have a lot of cooks in the kitchen just for grinding cp

I wouldn't have any problem with that. Even if they didn't adjust how much inspiration you got (which they would) How long would it take to get 900 CP (enough to have each constellation at 100) much less 3600 CP (I believe this is maxed out)?

I don't support an idea that allows someone to essentially be able to turn gold into cp and gain cp without having to ever leave town.

Considering that you can level Alchemy in one sitting given enough mats you'd have collected just for the purpose of writs on another toon, if inspiration counted towards CP I reckon you could get to 1800CP pretty quickly from that alone.

I think that would be good for the economy. If folks wanted to follow this path then that would drive up the price of mats in the guild stores (supply and demand)

I'm not sure about others but it takes me about a half an hour to grind 10k gold. Your talking about 200k to 400k points per CP (depending on enlightenment) How much stuff would you have to buy to get one CP?

How many inspiration points is there total from level 1 to 50 in Alchemy? Divide that by 400k and that would be how many points you get. If it is too high it could be adjusted.

Deconstructing items can give a lot of inspiration , especially if hey have the increase inspiration trait. If you gain around 2k-14k inspiration per item you decon, that's more exp than a lot of quests give you, you can get a whole bag full of items and get around 1-2 cp per bag of goods. You and a buddy grab 10 stacks of hide, craft a bunch of items and swap, you can just craft/decon your way to max cp.

As stated if converting to this make the points too high they could be adjusted.

I was actually thinking of folks with multiple VR characters when I thought of this. Lets say someone had 8 VR14s when they converted, I believe they got 70 CP points (they are account wide). I had one VR13 and one VR2 and got 70 CP. Since then I now have my VR 13 as well as a VR6 and a VR1 and have around 100 CP with 5 open slots left to use for characters and I have played very little once getting them to VR level. I believe the way things are I have the potential of having a lot more CP Than folks that had multiple VRs to start with. Where is all of their extra effort going?

Edit: Also why is it wrong for gather/crafters to be able to level their characters as well as folks who like to quest and/or fight their way to the top. Everyone could do the same things but folks that follow multiple paths would have the potential of always being ahead of those that don't.

It really would be nice if inspiration gained from crafting while at max crafting level did count towards c-points instead of just being lost... even if it was at a much reduced rate...
