Are Hireling Legendary deliveries a thing of the past?

Cause if so, I need to know so as not to waste skill points on two deliveries of crap that I get every day. I have gotten NO Legendary crafting components since patch 1.6 via the mail..NONE. NADA.ZILCH. ZERO.

Gold tempers and gold glyphs seem to have stopped coming altogether from hirelings, yes.

Don't blame the hirelings, though. I think the postal service in Tamriel has turned corrupt, and all your hireling deliveries are now stripped of their valuable items. Some day, someone will discover a disgruntled postal worker sitting in a basement, surrounded by stacks from floor to ceiling of gold tempers and Kutas, mumbling "Mine, all mine".

Edit: scratch that. I received one Tempering Alloy today. My first since 1.6 hit. Still much too rare for hirelings to be even remotely useful as a source for gold tempers.

I received 1 rosin the other day, first gold I have seen since 1.6 dropped. Yeah, hirelings are pretty much useless now. They really nerfed it too hard.

Supposedly you are to get higher chances receiving gold mats refining but I have also found that to be untrue, at least for me. I have refined tons of materials since and barely get anything at all and I am a master crafter. So, idk what gives.

yea, the refine thing is a no go too. I refined over 300 void ore for a friend and got one tempering alloy. The thing is though...I started doing writs cause I NEED those gold mats..and today I got a blue cyrodiil writ map thingy?...and got 5 Kutas in ONE DAY...so..the scale has totally tipped from Hirelings to writs..which is just dumb. If they want us to PVE in order to get gold mats..be honest and nix hirelings all together..They really are a waste now.(and Ive maxed in them)

See, I wouldn't even really mind the writs giving more except with the woodworking, blacksmithing and clothing writs... it takes an ENTIRE stack of materials to do them. 1 writ, a whole stack, and then you might get something. I have yet to receive a survey or anything gold from these particular writs. So it makes it completely worthless. Too much loss for no gain.

I have done ok with enchanting writs. Those seem to be the most worthwhile.

I could just have terrible RNG, who knows lol! I just don't have the patience to waste all those materials, I don't want to have to gather a stack worth of all 3 everyday just to do those writs. Especially when I am not getting a fair trade.

I receive them still. Not like before, but since I have 8 players at 3/3 in all hirelings, I'd say I receive an average of few a day. But a few all together.. not a few in all trades...

Okay, okay it sucks that gold items appear to be getting intercepted and impounded just prior to delivery.

Been reading those letters from my hirelings too, looking for hints as to what's going on.

The hirelings didn't change with Tango Uniform after all. But whatever it is, they're either not saying, not hinting, or they're trying to tell me but they're using a code I cannot comprehend.

Just tell me whom I must pay off in customs.....no way I'm paying what the guild merchants are asking....

I got some goldies since the patch. Im pretty sure of all kinds, I mean Kuta, Allow, Rosin, etc...

But, All my 8 chars are filled up with hireling at least two level, some three, so the odds gets higher.

But the nerf has been quite strong, this I can see. More than 50%, maybe around 75 to 80% less chance to have a goldie.

It's a little outrageous that someone needs to start 8 chars now in order to receive close to what we used to get. I was quite comfortable with a rare Kuta once a week.

I had this set up running since late summer 2014, so you can imagine how many goldies I pilled up since. Might be the reason behind the nerf.

I have only received one gold from a hireling since 1.6 and that is just after this most recent patch. I typically receive a good amount of gold drops from refining, with the exception of Tempering Alloys. For some reason, I am consistently getting fewer now than I did before 1.6. of 1000 ores refined, I am getting only 1-2 Alloys. So not right.

I thought they were a thing of the past, I hadn't seen any gold improvement mats from hirelings since 1.6 either. Then I got a Kuta last night. Hopefully not another month before I see another one.

I fear this to be true. I always thought about doing that but never did. I was never greedy for the golds..I thought we received them at a fair rate. Now that they have done this they are forcing everyone to start 8 separate chars for a decent drop rate which is just wrong.

I explore every square inch of every new zone I enter. That is probably why my character is VR10 and still only in the early stages of his VR7 zone. As such I pick up a lot of raw materials without the need to "farm" them. A quick refining-to-writ run at the end of a day is no great burden and I pick up gold materials from the refining process, the writs and occasionally (in the case of Enchanting) from survey reports. For the other materials I rely on my hirelings (though I get some of those from refining and deconstruction too).

As a whole, the system works quite well for me. I wasn't sure about each component as I looked at them separately but now I have got the shape of how it all fits together I really do quite like it.

I got a tempering alloy from a hireling the other day, almost *** my pants.

ZOS said that they increased the drops from refining materials, but either I am having extremely bad luck or the drop rate is actually LOWER for gold mats from refining than it was in 1.5. Par for the course I guess.

I have received 2 wax, 1 kuta, 4 rosin, and 2 alloys from hirelings since 1.6, but I have 4 sets of hirelings, so go figure your odds (:
Also, for refining, I refine mats, at least 200 of each type a day, and I have seen no change from refinement drop rate from 1.5 to 1.6. Feels to me that they lied to us, removed all our major chances from hirelings, and expect us to do all the writs. Which is FINE, but usually the woodworking one takes a whole stack and a half of nightwood, and doesn't give much. Thanks ZoS.

Gold Tempers have all but disappeared from the game. Sure, I get one or two from an extended refinement process, but from hirelings? It's rare, way too rare. Not getting them from the Writs (I have gotten a few Kutas from Writ rewards since 1.6, but even that is way down from the 4 to 6 a week I used to get)

Sad thing is, with 6 characters running L2 and L3 Hirelings for 6 months, I had just gotten enough Gold Tempers to make a full set of gear, with something left over. It was not like I was rolling in the things. Now, I can't see myself ever using them as I have no idea if they will ever get replaced by the game in some way.

So, for me, Gold Tempers have been effectively removed from the game.

Agreed - I just hit 60 Tempering Alloys, which from what I understand isn't even enough to do a full set of armor.

if you have your skill maxed out it only takes 8 per piece to insure 100% that something is Legendary. Thing is what is good armor today may be crap armor next patch..I have full sets of golds in my inventory that are useless now cause they change the meta every week.

Not much has changed for me. I was getting gold tempers at least once a week since unlimited came out. I guess this evens out my terrible RNG luck in other games. It is probably the cursed RNG haunting you. It sucks but that's how it goes.

Ah...so then I do now have enough for the armor, but not the weapons (I do have the tempering skill maxed). But, as you say, what's good armor today... Also, I'm only V6, so I'm not even worrying about gold armor at this point. Looks like by the time I am V14, I will have enough for a full set of armor/weapons, but will have to be quite sure my gear is what I want if I'm going to burn through all those Alloys.

Definitely bugged for me. I have gotten only 1 gold since 1.6/2.0( whatever you want to call it now). On refining it varies based on the craft. Wood working and Clothier I am getting a few golds but not what I used to get. Furthermore on blacksmithing I have a huge shortage of blues now. Getting tons of greens and purples with the occasional gold but blues are almost nonexistent.

I do writs, have hirelings and refine - but since 1.6 it's just ridiculously rare for me to get a gold. They overcompensated way too much.

The gold drops have gone down significantly... just look at the price of gold tempers.

When u figure it takes 8 per piece of equipment (72 to 80 total) to make them legendary, it may take a year to gather all the tempers for a gold set of v14 (or whatever they are going to call it under the CP system) for just one of your character. God forbid you should have two or more veteran level toons. AND heaven help you if you have a tank, a dps/stam build and a magic user, as you won't be able to make one set and swap equipment.

Legendary Tempers (and Kuta) are almost non existent from Hirelings since the great Hireling nerf of 2015. Yes you can still get a few now and again but the drop rate is beyond horrible. The drop rate from refining also didn't "significantly increase" like ZoS said it would, but hey, now that Rings of Mara and Motifs are in the Crown Store I'll let you guess where this is heading
