the Real Reason Axes are not as good as other weapons... Broken Passive!

ok so a bit of quick testing with both 2handed and 1handed axes show that the Bleed Effect resets before a actual tick of bleed can proc.


to explain this more carefully, You smack a mob, this puts the bleed Dot on them, but you attack them again before 2 seconds pass for the first DOT tick, this refreshes the time untill the first tick of the DOT. if you do anything but hit them once with a weapon and wait you will not get the DOT at all. This bug affected Werewolves when they first got buffed with the new abilitys and effects.

2 Examples.

Run into a group, Cast Steel tornado with 2 axes once.. and wait for a few seconds.. you should see a bleed tick.
Run into a group and spam steel tornado on GBC, you will never see bleed ticks.

2 more examples.
1 uppercut on a mob and then not attacking with a 2handed axe... get a bleed dot.
Spamming uppercut with the same weapon, No bleed DOT because its being reset each hit.


So the Bleed DOT tick which would make axes useful (extra DPS is always nice + Valkyn Skoria Procs) is currently bugged!

its probably been known and mentioned.. but i thought i would make it more known by mentioning it again.

ZOS... give axes the same treatment you gave WW bleed... the DOT on them is minor enough to not really be that big of a deal maker/breaker in most cases.

    The more I play this game, the more I see cracks and flaws in the programming that should never have made it past beta, much less a year into the official release of the product. Despite that, it's still a fun game, but the amount of minor bugs on simple things is staggering.

    I have not seen any source code for this game, but from the outside, it looks as if the code is messy and hard to maintain and update. There are a lot of warning signs that suggest underlying problems like "brittle code" and its equally disagreeable relatives.

    Bugs like this, this long into release makes me think that this game is being coded by Interns and not seasoned coders.
    Far too many characters to list any more.

    Exactly , i reported this some weeks ago, the bug is the same bug that werewolf bleeding light attacks had. Any offensive abilities overwrite the bleeding canceling it. Without this bug, axes would be nice to use.

    With a few exceptions, bleeds and dots in general are very lackluster in this game. This programming bug takes an already weak mechanic and makes it near to useless.

    Outside of set item procs, bleeds seem pretty useless as they are now. Really no reason not to use a sword. This is a shame since axes and hammers look awesome but hammers have the same issue that they really don't ignore enough armor to make them as useful as swords.

    Any proper implementation of weapon DoT effects would have the DoTs stack. You then balance the damage and the duration, but you let them stack infinitely.

    If they haven't done this, then the Devs are noobs.

    I've seen bleed ticks while 2h light attacking, but the damage has always come out lower than it seems it should. I guess this would explain why.

    Bleeds should just be applied and run their duration, as opposed to being refreshed with every attack. That will fix this.
