The Hidden Zones of Greenshade.

As an explorer. and one who can't stay between the lines, I hate invisible barriers, so I naturally like finding ways to circumvent them. My goal is to find at least one in each zone. Note that traveling around in the hidden areas isn't always easy, especially if you are afraid of heights! My neighbor actually got sick watching me navigate around the mountain peaks while recording the video for the "Ever View a Dark Anchor from above?". You really get a sense of height in these areas. In many cases you only get one chance to navigate around or over an obstacle, or you get stuck and have to start over again - soulgems won't help you in this situation. In one instance I was stuck so bad that I couldn't navigate to a way shrine, or use the command "/Stuck" . My VR14 main "Everything" character was effectively frozen in time. Repeatedly logging out and then in didn't fix the problem. I almost was ready to call technical support and explain how I was being stupid. Fortunately after waiting a few days , I logged in and could navigate to a way shrine.

The first video is a slideshow of the areas around the Greenshade zone (I commented what I was thinking on the individual slides), and the second video shows how to bypass the invisible barriers. There are actually several ways to bypass the invisible barrier in Greenshade, but this is the only one that doesn't require you to use the sorcerer’s steak ability.

I didn't show the huge areas of nothingness like in previous videos, just the areas with large amounts of details that wasted both hard drive and RAM space.

Enjoy!

Ah nice, I've gotten outside Coldharbor, Grahtwood, and Malabal Tor so far, I had the same thing happen to you in the first video when I got outside Grahtwood, I managed to walk all the way around into this "dead" instance of Malabal Tor where nothing was loaded and some of the map was missing.

Sadly no pictures of anything but this. (Outside Coldharbor putzing around inside The Lightless Oubliette)

Were you a sorcerer when you accessed the dead zone of Malabar Tor because I found three locations, but I had to use streak to force my way around the visible barrier at each location. So far I explored all the dead areas in the Aldmeri Dominion with the exception of Auridon because it is surrounded by an ocean with no dead zones along it's borders.

I plan on posting the entrance to Reaper's March soon; anyone can easily pass through it. The dead zone around Reaper's March is the easiest to navigate in the Aldmeri Dominion.

I already posted a video showing the hidden entrance for Grahtwood behind the Fisherman's hut.

I'm just posting this stuff because it's different form all the normal stuff you found in the discussions. Only a select few explorers would enjoy this type of exploring anyway; no rewards except satisfying your curiosity.

I can't believe I found that as entertaining as I did. But, damn it, it is fun finding those unfinished places.

Do you use ShadowPlay by any chance for video capture? There's a little problem with it most games. NVIDIA cards perform gamma correction as the final step before writing to the screen. ShadowPlay captures its feed before that final step. Thus it tends to look washed out.

You can fix it in most video editing packages. Or use one of the many other video capture programs such as LoiLo.

What's cool about Reaper's March is that the cliffs are low enough that you can interact with other players while standing on them. It tends to blow their minds; for example, I saw one player below me fighting several tigers, and he was getting his butt kicked so I started healing him from the cliffs and after the fight I could see him looking around. So I popped a self heal and then he waved to me!

I thought that interaction was awesome.

No, this was way back when before they patched Slaughterfish, you can still get outside the map without being a Sorcerer but you're going to need A LOT of speed boost, because the Slaughterfishies are evil.

As for getting outside the actual zone of Malabal Tor, it's so ridiculously easy, i'd be glad to show you in game if you want, there's some Ayleid ruins that are unfinished, and a town that has no recognizable architecture from the other places in the game. This is on NA server anyways.

So you found a location that anyone can just walk through? Can you post a screenshot of the map location and a screenshot of your character looking at the location. I plan on uploading the three areas that I found within the next few days, but you need to be sorcerer to take advantage of them.

I used Open Broadcast to record the video, but it seems that every tie I plan to record something in game, its always at night and its raining. I'm not using the NVIDIA options for the encoding.

So did you explore the hidden zone around Greenshade? I spend hours exploring these hidden areas.
