Changing armour appearance

I know costumes are currently done as an 'wear it all or nothing' thing, but I really hope ZOS are working on some sort of individual armour piece appearance change - currently there's pretty much a bis armor setup for tanks, stam dps and magicka dps, so hundreds of players look identical.
If anyone played Rift they had a great system - transmogrification - which could be introduced very easily and would mean you don't need an individual costume slot for each armour piece. You just click on the armour piece you want to wear, click on a consumable item from the cash store, then click on the armour piece you want it to look like (which is consumed in the process). People can then look how they want without worrying about set bonuses, and ZOS makes a metric ton of cash via the crown store!
