Sorry if this has been posted before tried doing a search and couldn't find an answer. Are writs only available in your starting area's? I am a vet 7 from AD alliance, and I can only access writs in AD area's and Cold Harbour, not in any of the other alliance (EP or DC) area's on Cadwell's Silver and Gold. Thanks for any assistance.

Since the writs are to make stuff to support your Alliance in the war, it only makes sense that you can get Writs and deliver the finished products in your Home Alliance. So, this is the way it is supposed to be.

Coldharbor is kind of an anomaly that lives outside the real world, so that is why every faction can get writs from them. Craglorn the same way for different reasons, but you have to be VR Ranked and work on higher level writs to deal with that place.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

This is correct, but it is worth noting that this is a change with 1.6, as previously you could get writs in the Silver and Gold zones as well (although the deliveries were never in the Silver or Gold zones).

I remember my DC character getting them in Velyn Harbor. He was going through there for Silver and grabbed a writ or two as I was there, but delivered to Craglorn. It is a great place to do Writs, and Craft for that matter. Every Crafter I was grinding out levels on was there for most of them. It's probably one of nicest places to craft, mostly because it is not so busy. Everything you need is clustered right there in the center of town. I have never dropped off a writ in that town though, so that might have impact. Wonder why it's not busier? Must only have one guild kiosk. Every crafter I have has ground out most of their levels in that town in one or more crafts.

Stormhold is best for EP, and Daggerfall for DC although the drop off is way down in the harbor. Not sure if there is a really tight town to do writs in for DC like EP and AD have. Shame we can't drop off anywhere in our Alliance. Probably related to bots for that restriction.

DC: So yeah, in Daggerfall, the Writ boards are on the other side of town from the delivery.
In Wayrest the Consumables Writ board is the other side of the city from the Delivery which is outside the city while the equipment board is close to the centre of town.
In Shornhelm the Delivery is near the equipment tables but the Consumables are half a town away.
In Sentinel the Crafting Tables are on the other side of the city from the delivery
    In Evermore the same again.
:) Apparently DC characters must be punished.

Hey DC is orsimer. We can take it.

Only fluffy types need everything so close together.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

For DC, Shornhelm in Rivenspire isn't too bad. Not as good as Velyn Harbor or Stormhold though.
