nirnhorned trait

do you have to do the quest in other to just farm the trait by nodes in upper craglorn

ive been farming these for last 2 week and nothing. and i have not done the quest yet.

so basically my question is has anyone here found a nirnhorned trait with out doin the craglorn quest

People claim to find them all the time in Upper Craglorn but I've farmed hundreds if not thousands of nodes there and never seen one. The only one I ever found in the wild was from a Lush node in a crafting writ survey (well and the one quest reward one)

Edit: and that's after I did the quest

I've gotten mixed responses from other players regarding whether the craglorn main questlines (you would need to do lower and upper lines because you can't do upper without having lower done) need to be completed to be able to find Nirncrux in Upper Craglorn. Would be nice to get Dev confirmation either way.

yeaa thats what deltias told me on his stream too but he wasent positive.
thats why im wondering if anyone herer has found one with out doin the quest

I got 3 from nodes,mayof been crafting writ map. No quest done yet. A half finished one in lower craig. I Heard, weapon traits are from quest..armor nirn is from nodes. not sure on this .. But my 3 are armor nirn

Dont have to do quest, I can get 2 stones every 2 to 3 hours on average.

Good to know about the quest part, and good god that drop rate is terribad.

Nope. The quests have nothing to do with the nodes. But it feels like the RNG hates you some times.

First time ever I went to Upper Craglorn with my guild, I found one. On subsequent trips, one person always found one.

Then I spent two months going to Upper Craglorn fairly regularly and didn't find anything. Until I actually harvested one without noticing (saw it in my inventory after).

Then on my alt who hadn't even started the quests yet, I was running around getting mats/chests/nodes and she found 3 in half an hour. I was shocked!

So yeah, when you are having a dry run, it feels like they don't even exist. Then you get one.

The stones (both armor and weapon) are from nodes. The only way to obtain a traited weapon that's not from another player is by completing the quest.

nice. i have about 8 hours in and havent found anything but ill be back at crag now searching
