Upgrade To PS4 Question

Hi hopefully a mod can answer this for me. If I take up the offer to transfer to the PS4 version do I get mailed a code on release which I use to create a new account? Can I do this and not transfer my characters as I would like to keep my accounts separate?

Thanks!

If you have a look at your account there is now a tab to sync a console to your PC account that says it is not currently active. I'm guessing we are doing it through that. The console game will be integrated into the PSN so I don't think we will have a separate ZOS account for console.

One does not upgrade to a console. That's a downgrade Mr.

"And it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days. The fact that the word "monetized" exists points to the heart of the issue for us: We don't want the player to worry about which parts of the game to pay for - with our system, they get it all."

Ah thanks guys. I will still be playing on PC which is why I wanted to separate them I just wanted the option for armchair ESO without lugging my PC downstairs!

There was a post yesterday I saw that covered this I think but I'm too lazy to find it.

The progression between the PC and PS4 versions would be completely separate so you can't move from your PC to your arm chair and continue the quest you were on. Also since they are on different platforms/servers you should need a new account for the PS4.

You will also need Gold Live or PS Plus subscription.

Search support will provide you with quick easy answers, has the mods are rather busy with the increase numbers on the site.

    But here is your answer.

"Since the new business model will be the same for all platforms, will we be able to have only one account that’s usable on all of them: PC/Mac, Xbox One, and PS4?

No. In order to play The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited on both PC/Mac and console, players will need to have separate accounts for each platform of their choice. Console megaservers are also separated between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so players who want to play on both of those systems will need different accounts for each console.

Players should be aware that megaservers are locked by console and region."

For me, if I spent $300 for the new video card I'm interested in, $30 for the new power box to power the video card, and $100 for the new motherboard & processor combo that I am also interested in, it would be a downgrade. Then I also have to worry about cooling and space, a complicated mess.

But right now, a ps4 is an easy upgrade for me, and it allows me to play games not available on pc. I can upgrade my PC (just for this game since this is the only game I play on pc) later if I am still interested in ESO

As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.
