Two Questions Regarding ESO on console.

Hi,

Started in later beta, and plated into the fall. Looking forward to the console releases and a fresh start with what should be an excellent game on the next generation consoles. Two specific questions, though:

1) Will those of us looking for a fresh start have separate server(s) to do so on without having to mix environments with PC transfers?

2) Have stamina builds been brought in line with magicka builds at all levels of the game?

The answers to those two questions will determine if I buy this game again. Or any other zemimax game in the future, for that matter.

Thank you.

The consoles will be on a separate server than the PC versions. Not sure if each console flavor has their own server. However you will be playing with people who have copied their characters over from the PC version.

Yes, Stamina is a perfectly viable play style now.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Each console has its own server. But you have to be xbox gold live or Sony Plus member to be able to play. This is a big problem...

Is that confirmed that new console players will be competing with PC transfers on day one?

Guess I won't be buying or playing ESO again. Zero interest in that lameness. Thank you for the info.

If you own a console and have it connected to the internet there is no reason not to have an account to play online. I've never understood this particular complaint. It's part of owning a console.

No it is not. I am rarely using PS for anything but internet access and occasional games like Morrowind and I don't want to pay for nothing. PS3 was much better in that sense. Now they are enforcing like $50/year for everything in PS4. This is a ripoff.

I've not played consoles since Nintendo 64 - but I'm willing to say that $4 p/mth for the full online service really isn't that much money. It's basically 1 video game purchase a year less ?

I am playing just one game at all. So it is comparable for me.

Considering they are offering a service with real bandwidth costs that hosts thousands of games simultaneously, I've never found 50 bucks a year to be unreasonable at all.

Don't give a *** for other games. In my case it is not working. This is all what I am saying.

In any case, go Jack someone else's thread with your complaints about basic console functionality that has existed for a decade or more. Stamina builds being fixed is excellent news. Not being given an opportunity to have a fresh start day 1 on a new platform is not. I will likely take a pass, personally, because I have zero interest in that. It's about the fresh start in a fresh environment.

On PS4 you need PS plus anyway for other games and services, I can't think of any of my friends that don't use it.
It is less that $5.00 a month bought annually if you can't afford that you never could of afforded a $15.00 per month sub anyway.

You don't listen. I just don't want to pay for nothing. I know what I am paying $15/mo - it is actually a charity towards the ESO. But I don't agree that some other guys wanted $5/mo extra just for nothing. I paid them when bought the console.

Congrats. I disagree but if you want to complain about the existing established business model that was in place for over a decade that you knew about when you bought your console, or having to buy gas for your car, or pay for maintainence on your house, or anything else in the world that you erroneously opine should be free to you, take it to a thread about that. Or start your own. But that's not what this one is about.

Well, you have a decision to make. The $15/mo requirement... isn't even a requirement anymore. And they dropped it b/c of this very issue, IMO. The couldn't get Sony/MS to drop it. So, what's done is done.

    1. No it's two servers or so per console type based on region
    2. Depends on how and what your play styles are but changes were made

This business model was in place since 2013, so it is not over decade. Ok, let's stop this. You clearly washed up on this one, so we will not agree anyway :)

I think the business model refers to Xbox and playstation. Xbox live has been a fee since the original xbox back in 2003

xbox live is cost free even now. I am talking about xbox gold which is not and never was a requirement.

    Heya NBS, long time bud.

So there will be more than one server per console? But it's based on region? Will all have pc transfers mixed in or will one be available for original console players only?

It astounds me that zemimax either doesn't understand or care about the importance of console players being afforded a fresh start on a fresh environment day one. It's as if these people don't even play games, themselves, sometimes.

    Hi folks.

We would like to keep this thread open for constructive discussions on the topic at hand, which is about the console servers and how the transfer option will affect new players, as well as the viability of stamina builds. We value your feedback, but we ask that everyone stay on topic and avoid derailing the thread. Thanks for your understanding.

And for whatever it's worth, I say all of the above with a v5 main that's 8/9 in all research as well as an almost full provisioning recipe book as of the fall. And I still would like a fresh start on console when it comes.

As for the new starts versus transfers, I don't see an issue. A new start of any sort begins in the same place. Why would a high level player return to Khenarthi's Roost? Do you fear they will kick sand in your face or kill an Alit before you can? A level 3 Vestige is still a level 3 wandering around in rags looking lost. A transfer just knows not to kill the locals in front of a guard cause you're gonna get whipped.
Scura di Notte - Altmer Nightblade (gear)
Lalin del Sombra - Bosmer Sorcerer (alchemy/enchanting)
    Angevin Sarkany - Bosmer Dragonknight
Alkemene Velothi - Dunmer Warden (Morrowind)
Sanna yos'Phalen - Altmer Sorcerer (provisioning)
    Cosima di Mattina -Altmer Sorcerer
    Naria Andrano - Dunmer Templar
Luca della Serata - Redguard Templar

It's a factor in any PvP game. This is a PvP game. With titles and benefits that come with those titles at that.

    Achievements that have benefits.

Crafting and particularly research has benefits.

That's all before you even get into the economic concerns.

And the list goes on and on.

Not to mention getting to experience the world from the start in a more complete state than the game was at just a few months ago....with people having been able to use mechanics to level up, make economic advances, and gear up that will never be available again. The pc servers were arguably "corrupted" for lack of a better way of putting it because of the incomplete state the game was released in. That corruption is irreversible. Unavoidable, obviously, but there's absolutely no good reason to, now, spread that corruption to new servers.

If people don't understand the difference between an MMO in this regard to other kinds of games I'm not sure I really need to spell it out for them.

Console players deserve the same opportunity to experience a fresh world just like PC players had. One should not be penalized simply because one choses one platform over another.

I am excited to transfer over my account. I think since console players will be running the same machines xbox/ps4 it should run smooth. I have had xbox gold since 2004 I beleive. No more people crashing due to running ancient computers. I am hopeful lag will not be as bad. I have not had any issues on xbox gold since 2005. Happy gaming hope to see alot of transfers.

No it's not anyone with a ps4 has a ps+ sub for the simple fact for £60 a year I get around £500 worth of game free a year.

Clueless PC players haven't got a clue what they are talking about.
