Expansion of style and unique appearance through previous material skins/patterns..

I would like to see the ability not only to use motifs and their combinations to create our individual appearances but also use the varying looks of materials we have passed by. From a heavy armor perspective I can think of a few good examples. The iron Khajiit cuirass which is a simple functional breastplate with exposed arms for those rad Nord tats. The steel Imperial shield, cuirass, helm and pauldrons of which have good color options and a good rank and file look. The last of my examples is the Bosmer bone laminate (steel grade) which has a scaled pattern with almost dragon like in appearance. I am sure everyone has a former look or piece they miss or at least could experiment with in heavy, medium and light gear. Having these former material style with the polished sheen and armor level of say voidsteel would give the game a lot of new flavor with patterns/skins that already exist but are left to gather dust. I myself do not always want intricate or extravagant but rather simple and functional.

This would be good. I get three kinds of orders regarding style
    - whatever, just pick something, don't bother, whattheffffisstyle
    - make it all daedric
    - very specific list of styles

The last one is from people who usually have already studied esofashion and are seeking specific look. These orders are extra fun to do. But i have seen the agony when they have to choose between the looks and the armor level. I think there could be a feature on crafting tables to choose independently armor level and style level. After the armor level is set, we could select any style level between lowest and current armor level.

This has been asked at least once before, but I would love to see this implemented. The higher level styles just don't look as good, IMO.
    PC / NA
    Thenathra - Khajiit Stormblade (Sorcerer - Dual-wield Swords/Lightning Staff)

Several alts I've created, but haven't leveled much yet:
    Norryne - Dunmer Paladin (Templar - Two-hand Hammer/One-hand Hammer & Shield)
    Demerwei - Argonian Shadowscale (Nightblade - Dual-wield Axes/Dual-wield Daggers)
Gohrnag - Orc Elementalist (Dragon Knight - Frost Staff/Lightning Staff)
Kerasha - Redguard Mystic (Templar - Flame Staff/Restoration Staff)
Alawael - Bosmer Assassin (Nightblade - Bow/Two-hand Battleaxe)
Hjerlm the Quiet - Nord Dragonguard (Dragon Knight - One-hand Sword & Shield/Two-hand Greatsword)

I never understood why the crafting system was so half-assed anyway. It always felt like they were on the right track, then they got bored and gave up..
I mean, racial styles all have 4 tiers of weapon and 4 tiers of armor designs. After level 36 your gear won't change at all, unless you wear some non-craftable items.

Now the "expensive" styles are even more of a joke. The weapons change a bit, but the armor is the exact same since lvl 1.

Which is exactly why I call it half-assed.
Now they've added dwemer style and cut it into what, like 15 or so motifs? That's another joke.

Things I want to see in this game (crafted and/or implemented):

    - rapiers (new weapon - using single single rapier, perhaps with light attack being a stab and heavy attack being a slash, perhaps adding a small passive bonus to magic damage for the free hand, creating a sort of a fencer/spellsword playstyle)

    - crossbows (already wrote about them on forums, thread was mostly ignored though, even though I've designed abilities nicely and even weapon mechanics different from current ones to feel unique and immersive with Xbow)

    - transmogrification (instead of those weird costumes that look like beggar's rags or transvestite's dream.. and mostly because we can't use lower tier armor or weapons otherwise, without sacrificing insane amount of stats)

    - coats (in shoulder transmog slot, functioning like a robe worn over your armor with opened front)

    - every motif having visual variations, up to highest tier

    - armor actually having models, not just texture over spandex . (nothing hurts the eye more than plate armor drawn on the skin of your character. We have models for boots, helms, gauntlets, greaves and shoulders, so why the hell the chest looks so flat and bad?)

Commenting the dwemer motifs: I think they are an improvement over the old motifs. The old epics are too much RNG luck. The new system is much better. It has decent luck to get one page and with dedication you will get full set. We can also trade them and buy the last missing page. I hope they keep using this in the future.

Edit: Crossbows were my favourite weapon for my rogue in DDO. They could be a ranged version of 2h sword: slow to use but high DPS. Maybe something like this:
    1. Loading: doubles damage of next heavy or five light attacks
    2. Knockback: fires a knockbacking pellet
    3. Elemental bullet: a DoT attack
    4. Rapid fires: shoots five pellets rapidly for high DPS
    5. "Taking Aim": yeah, THAT yell, wind up that crossbow real tight three seconds and one-shot
