The Bad Lands Of Reaper's March

I was searching for treasure chests in Reaper's March and after jumping though a V-shaped rock to get to what looked like a hidden area, I discovered the bad lands of Reaper's March. There's not much to do but explore the outer rim of Reaper's March (which is normally blocked by invisible walls). I did find some runes, a lore book, and a suspiciously misplaced goat that I suspect was a daedric prince following me around. Enjoy the slide show.

Interesting. Nice photos! My favourite is 1:48. Reminds me of those white gardens of brand names and symbols.

This is awesome, thanks for sharing :)
As a Morrowind modder for thousands of hours, I'm always interested to see areas like this.
But I'm surprised you even found a lore book and runes (and a goat xd), this is cool^^ I hope the lorebook is one we also can find in the "normal" areas, though; I've played the game completely through twice and didn't miss anything and still have some books not registered in the Eidetic Memory tab (sometimes whole categories).

Edit: I was wrong, of course I should have all "lore" books since my Mages Guild rank is 10 for both of my mains. But it still would be interesting to know where all the other books are, maybe hidden in these secret areas?^^

    Rayee,

The challenge is to traverse the entire zone along the visible cliffs, and discover all the junk left after the zone was completed. I'm an explorer, and love to check out every area of a map, but the invisible wall in all the zones really aggravate me. This is my way of satisfying my explorer itch.

How you seen the screen captures I posted for Hidden Zone of Grahtwood?

I'm currently working on screenshots of the hidden areas of Malabar Tor. You need to be a sorcerer and use STREAK to get in the hidden areas of this zone. This zone is really rough to move around in.

Reaper's March was the easiest zone to traverse around in, and in Grahtwood you needed to travel using a special route to move around the map. Both Reaper's March and Grahtwood are the easiest areas to access the hidden or restricted areas.

I designed several Far Cry 2 mods years ago and my mods were extremely efficient in their design. I was amazed at how much junk the ESO developers left in the maps that take up valuable memory and hard disk space.

Yeah, I've seen the other post, too, thanks for sharing :)
I'm an explorer as well, also in other games, I always try to get behind the borders, it's interesting to see these hidden things.
I remember f.e. the White Gold Tower in Skyrim which you only get to see using the console, but also other games where I could find a "hole" to slip through to the other side (even in games using a car^^).

But yeah, I also agree on your last sentence, though. That's what I was talking about just a few days ago in another thread; it was mainly because of these double texture layers, but later I also mentioned these things outside of the borders, which made me worry about the memory. As interesting and exciting these hidden areas might be, but that's still something that shouldn't be there, I guess..

    Agree!

it gives you a good idea of how much their quality control sucks, or just their laziness to go that finale step to make something as perfect as possible!

By request, here's a video of where the hidden entrance is to the hidden door of Reaper's March; you don't need to be a Sorcerer using the Bolt Escape skill to get though the invisible barrier, you just need to know how to do the bunny hop B)
Be sure to carry about 10 soul gems should you fall and die, and also don't try to ride your mount up a deep hill because sometimes the mount will flip and you will die, and it is important to toggle to walk mode when climbing around ledges so you don't overshoot the edges of cliffs and die.

The ESO netherworld is indeed fun to explore. There's a similar tear in the fabric of Nirn in The Rift as well.

Yes, I found one that gives you access to the entire forbidden area around the Rift. You can enter the unfinished versions of Eastmarch and Stonefalls.

this is a referance to the region that repears is in/near.

Elswyr is the homeland of the Khajiit and is known as a mostly barren dessert with jungles to the south..

Reapers march more or less can be considered to be in the border between Elswyr and Valenwood (where most of AD is situated)

if it was intended as a joke, its based on the fact that the phonetic of Elswyr is "Else-Where" which can give a double meaning you you being not in repears anymore and possibly in the Khajiit homeland. its kind of a very vague joke in that instance tho.

Ah, not a player of the SP Elder Scroll games then. Elswyr is usually pronounced "elsewhere" and is where one of the Dominion Races have most of their population.

Got it. I played all the ES games from Morrowind to Skyrim, but I'm getting old and my memory is feeble. Nice pun!

Fun fact: The name of the land is literally intended to be a pun. It used to be divided between Palletine (the southern, rainforest area) and Anequina (the northern, badlands/desert area), until eventually two rulers, one from the north, and one from the south, married and united the land and called it Elsweyr, because in their optimism they based it off an old Khajiiti proverb along the lines of, "A perfect society is always elsewhere"

Their optimism was rather unfounded though because immediately after uniting the land it fell into a terrible civil war.

Those are probably duplicate lorebooks (usually there are 3 lorebook locations for 1 book - pick one and they all dissapear after), so you probably already picked it up in a "normal" location.
    Sometimes, I dream about...cheese...
