Heavy armor and 1hand/shield !!!

timborggrenlarsenb16_ESO
Got the feeling and the hope for some good changes with the HA and 1h/shield after 1.6, but want a failure again.
The HA is simply not worth it at all, compared to LA and MA, where beside some protection it also give to damages, stats, skills and abilities, where HA should give defense against magicka and stamina damages, but the protection we get is a joke, I am a NB, have a single and range target setup for pvp, and have a area(Sap) farming build for massive pulls in pve.
For pvp, you are simply killed on sight from dps up to 18k pr hit, and you lack that starts and other benefits that you get from LA and MA. Plus this have protection to start with.
And the difference with using LA or MA, with a 1h and shield for mass pulls, and HA is so small that this not worth it at all.

I know we are all manly running staff, and LA in both pvp and pve, a shame i have to say after played since beta, i to have followed that path, though i till now have tried and tried to make a build i love and cut see my character stand for, but its simply not possible in eso, though thats what the game say it offers players to become what you like and all setup will be good.

So what i like to know is there any changes on the way that i have missed and some know off, that will make the plate worth it, from directly changing the plate or from crafting?
Never mind the setup, because this will never change with the sub - classes.

About the 1h/shield abilities and skills what up with that ?
Ones again in a mmo we have a 2 hander that ofc. make more dps than a 1 hander, but are used as it was a light fetter sword, not only that it have all that are needed fro trotection, beside it's not for self protections(1h/shield is) its for dps.
High 1 hit dps, knock back and stun, area high hitter with debuff and debuff follow up. self heal, and stats regenerater.

I use 2 heavy and 5 medium, the heavy definitely helps in PvP and PvE. Having Immovable Brute slotted reduces break free and the spell resist stacks on top of my Breton passives and Restoring focus. I love heavy armour now.

What is your race/class/build and why do you think you need heavy?

Edit: Just wanted to add 1H/shield is still as awesome as it has always been. De-buffs, Taunt, Charge, Defensive Stance!

Heavy is actually good for PvE now and although viable in PvP for pure tanking, two equally skilled players usually the LA/MA will win simply because you cannot sustain your self in Heavy. Don't get me wrong, Heavy now actually offers much more protection than light armour, but sadly shield stacking makes heavy pointless as with LA you can shield stack to be as tanky if not more than a player in heavy with the key difference being the LA user can dish out far more DPS when he or she chooses depending on the situation. The heavy will only remain defensive as his/her dps will suck and he/she will more than likely lose the battle of attrition to any competent player.

Thankfully, PvP is now swarmed with returning and new players who still haven't mastered the game, thus allowing you to feel like a bad ass when they do hardly any damage to you. Ofcourse you will be brought back to reality as soon as you run into a competent LA/MA player who will wreck your day.

As far as i know, what we have now is ZoS supposed fix... They even nerfed recovery for heavy in 1.6 which is sort of absurd considering how bad resource management is in heavy. As i said, in PvE you'll be fine, in PvP you'll get beat down by the competent players.

I am used to play as a defensive class, ala paladins or shadowknight(Thats why i play the NB closed to a SK)
    Briton (For the resistens)
    Max magican(Magican skillbased abilities)
Wamp (Lame skills but love the idea(Rolepaly))
HA/5, 1 LA and 1 MA(HA bscuse i love the idea of full and max protection and lang fhigts)
NB becuse og the dark'ish skills as essence drain and lifestealing.
1H/shield to go with the max plate, and for the same idea of full and max protection. But no more now its staff on both bars(and i have range and close combat in one) 1. healer staff, 2 healer staff(pve and pvp)its not woth it
    1. Piercing mark(Lover ressitence and protection, heal and see stealth), Ambush (gab closer), Concealed weapon(Speed and stun), Healing ward(2x heals, not over time), and Shiponing attacks(Stats regainer)(Pvp). (U: Devouring swarm or metor becuse it OP).
    2. Piercing mark, Healing ward, Mutagen, Sap seenence and Shiphoning attack.(Pve)(U: Veil of baldes, area dps and heals) .

It does. Show me 18k non-siege hit in PVP to player in heavy armor who blocks ;)

If your goal is to always track to the most OP then plan to be disappointed from here out. I've been doing great with the changes and no longer run 7 LA even though my main is a magicka build. Still using 1HS just fine.

Ditch Vamp and go 2 heavy, 5 light. You're a magic user so don't use 1h/shield either. Harness magicka, and ward are all you need, maybe even Immovable.

See thats the prob, NOT if you are build right, now we are back to the same 3 builds that are globle used in this game, with out this you are not welcome in groups and cant do *** n your own. Gotter love it ;)

There are 5x heavy, sword and shield NB builds that are practically unkillable and work very well. Biggest benefit heavy armor gives is lower cost for blocking, so it gives nice synergy with the blocking bonuses sword and shield give.

Shield stacking with light armor is popular option, but there are very good PVP-builds for all armors and weapons. Most of them don't use an damage shields.

It will always be a "built right" situation though. Otherwise game will be reduced to lowest common denominator.

Some of the successful builds that players like Sypher and ppontus have put out there didn't exist for most people until they opened their minds and created something new. Yeah someone else prob knew already, but these players shared the info and they became socially viable then. Point is, are you figuring it out for yourself or waiting on someone else.

Regarding solo builds... Agreed, there is too little end-game content for solo PvE. There are too many different players and play styles to run out of solo content in PvP though.

Agreed on protection for NBs. My main is NB and our class protection options are limited to shadow and cloak style defense. So I leverage skills available to all classes to offset this.
