As someone else stated you'll receive a 10% XP bonus while in the vicinity of your group.

Upon accepting a group invite usually you'll get a message asking you if you'd like to "travel to group leader". You can choose to accept or decline without repercussion. If accepted you will travel to the instance in which the leader is located or to the closest wayshrine if the leader is overland. If you decline, you can continue about your business while in the group until you are ready to actually physically join the group.

You can open the group menu by pressing the "P" key (default-can be bound to any key in the controls settings) and right click any group member to bring up a small tooltip menu. In this menu you can select "travel to player" in which you will travel to the selected player as described above without cost to you.

Are there meetings? no, unless specifically requested by the party.

Will they be disappointed if you decline? maybe....if they requested you for a group that probably means they want you to go with them and will waste time trying to find another player to fill your spot if you decline. With that said usually you won't receive a group invite unless you've requested one. If you're receiving numerous group invites without requesting them...well that could be spam and you'll either want to contact the player directly to request them to stop or just ignore/report them.

If you have any other specific question don't hesitate to ask. Happy Hunting!

When you accept a group invite a few things happen:

When you press p on the keyboard you can see the people in ypur group, what class and level and role they are and where in the world of tamriel they are.

Often people group to trade things in person, instead of emailing something

When you rightclick the name of the person in your group and choose travel to player you will end up at a wayshrine close to them. When you then open your map you will see a icon like V on the map, so you can see where that person is.

You can then help him/her to kill a big monster or just explore with them.

When you press /g in the chat window, you can talk in groupchat, this will be orange and nobody outside your group can read it.

I hope this gives you an idea,

    Have fun,
Beesting, Bosmer Magica DK, AD EU, crafter
Slager, Dunmer Magica DK, DC EU, pvp
Farmer, Dunmer Magica DK, AD EU, trials build

Every major patch looks like the end of the world but somehow i just cannot stop playing.

Other people have answered the mechanics of grouping. However there are several reasons why someone would just come out and ask you to group out of the blue.

    1. They like running the dungeon with you as you mesh well with them, so they want to group up. Some may want to do this to share the experience, some just want the help, some just want to be social, some just want to make things easier. I almost always accept these requests. You can always leave the group later.
    2. You get randomly invited to group and you are no where near a dungeon. There are many reasons for this, but most of the time, they are not worth joining up. Mainly because their goals may not be the same as yours. I usually decline these.
    3. They meant to ask someone else, they just clicked on your character by accident. Join or not depending on where and what you are doing.

Grouping can be a lot of fun in this game, so join some groups and see how it goes. Remember, you can always leave the group at anytime. Use the /g in chat to talk to the group exclusively and ask them what they are doing so you know if you want to be with them or not, or take the diversion from what you were doing and go along for a while.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Hi, I am quite confused by the meaning of your question, there might be some ironic sense in it, but if so I don't get it.
What effects would that have on you?

Hy, no, no ironic sence, i´ve just no experience in grouplaying......
My thoughts are about what happens if i joinend a group and , per example, i´m in the middle of an privte quest of mine....and the group calls me in .....do i have to leave what i´m doing to get with the group somewhere? ...or ..i don´t know how to explain myself well...do i have to go allways with the group togehter? ...or are there meetings?...or..will they be disapointed if i decline an invitation....or....where do they meet together.....or....whatever, i have no idea how that groupthing works....i´ve allready took a look in the Helpsection, but i can´t find the wright answers there neither.....
some days ago i accepted an invitation , just to see what will happens....but till now, it has happend nothing... :D:)
    Saludos
