Dull, Rusty Looking Weapons & Shields!

An OK job was done on the armor but weapons & shields got left out in a big way and look horrible. The designs are ok(could be much better) but this terrible looking dull rusty look is a serious eye sore. A decent fix for this would be to allow us to dye our weapons & shields. I looked up some weapons from other games and put them below just to show what we should be able to have in ESO. Now I'm no game programer and maybe there is something I'm missing and maybe they could not give us nice looking weapons & shields but I doubt it. I mean no offense to Zenimax but I'm thinking that weapons and shields could have been made much better. Hell, if they can do it in other games why not ESO?

The 1st set of pics are from a 13 year old MMORPG called Final Fantasy 11(FFXI). And in case you're wondering, those pictures aint edited to look better. Thats how they look in game! And this game has been and still is a pay to play game after 13 years! The weapons in these pics are VERY hard to get and are special weapons with sweet stats!

The next set of pictures are from our beloved Elder Scrolls Oblivion which is 9 years old now. Notice that NONE of the weapons look rusty!

I miss the lovely weapons and shields we had in Skyrim (of course, this is not Skyrim).

    Thanks for putting this together.
+1 for weapon dyes and better-looking models.

I mainly want to have Weapon dyes. The argument against weapon dyes is "you could make pink swords". The flaw: you can make pink armor right now instead. If the reason that weapon dyes is not being released so as to make it that they're not able to be colored as terribly (or as awesomely) as armor is now, then one would have to ask why they even allowed such colors to go on armor in the first place.

Right now at v14 I do not see how purple swords are much better than pink swords. Even for RP purposes, I want to dye it so it actually looks like a sword, steel and all, Leather grip etc.

If armors and weapons looking flippantly deranged is an issue, change some of the dyes to ones that are more appealing realistically and to the eyes. (Ex. having a light green dye changes everything light green. Change it slightly so only robes and etc can have the green, metals and leather would have a tuned down metallic version that is not cartoon-y, which in part is already implemented so many dyes in question could be adjusted easier accordingly.)

And also as another note: Change the base armor colors throughout the game on all levels, some levels are completely freaky looking in terms of the colors chosen for armors. I prefer realistic colors, and possibly they could go along with the material used for them. Example: iron, looks like a sort of rusted grey color in game, dwarven like actual dwarven colors, ebony, etc.

In total, this would allow players to have rusted colors should they wish them for RP purposes, but allow everyone to have realistic lore based weapons and armor.

I tried playing FFXI for a few years when it first came out. I got stuck in the late teen levels because I have a hard time finding groups to play with. It calls me back... to this day. I really wish I could have committed to it in a way that made it worthwhile.

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Yeah, its to bad that you didnt stay with it. Now the game is so damn HUGE it would literally take months to catch up with other players. What it was on release and what it is now is 2 completely different games!

Anybody know if they plan on fixing up the weapons and shields?

I've been thinking this, too. IDK why they wouldn't have weapon dye. The weapon models don't bug me, but come, on. Being able to dye all of your clothes, and having to live with a baby poop green weapon on your back. That'll drive you crazy.
