Seeking someone to take over

I am simply too busy with other things. I haven't played any game reliably in months. I haven't had more than an hour per week to work on addons, despite my best intentions. And with summer here, gardening with the wife (we grow most of our own veg), etc... I just don't see ESO happening for me any time soon.

It was a good run, and I enjoyed providing a service to so many people. I am honored that so many of you believed in me and supported me. I simply think it's time to move on. So, I need a SKILLED and EXPERIENCED addon developer that I can sit with on voice chat and hand all of this stuff over. I have 22 addons/collections that I manage and it's very, very easy to be instantly overwhelmed by it all. I have little scripts and utilities I've written to help me manage things and make it easier.

Here's hoping someone like @Garkin has the time to take on twice his current addon workload for you guys

I hate to see you move on from ESO, even if understandable. You ran into me on the PTS and bought me a horse and took me pvp'ing and explained various things about the game to me. Really helped me understand what I was getting into. Thank you.

Crikey. Your add-ons are one of the best parts of ESO.

If you don't find anyone better qualified willing to take up the banner, I'd be willing to take it on until you do find someone better, though pretty much all I've ever done in Lua is to make those crafting timers for your toolbar, so I'd be more of a maintainer than a developer.

I'd be tempted to add some fishing, legerdemain and alt-tracking info to the toolbar, though, and finish that very sexy modularization that you were talking about, if it's not already done.

(I just had to go doublecheck you didn't post this on the 1st! Sad to see you didn't.)

Actually I would give you thanks, but I found that your things conflicted with the game to often. Not being nasty, but chose never to use them.

Instead I targeted simple addons specific for one function. Thats why I post this, I would love to see a collection of specific target things based on your work, not the whole package like yours. Maybe people can spread the load and make, or breakout the best parts.

I would love:

Damage floaters only for example

Wykkyd

None of my addons have damage text whatsoever.

I had a hard time figuring out how to most effectively use the addons, but then I'm stubborn and tend to muddle in, not read directions and then forget important points.

All that being said, I'm really glad that you have made such wonderful stuff, and I'm grateful that folks are taking it over.

I'm also grateful that emotes are added to the "switch" function - cues me that yes, it did work ('cause I seldom actually change gear).

I have logged as many hours into this game as most of the devs, and I have gratefully used just about all of your add-ons. I have enjoyed many hours of your add-ons, and flawlessly, enhancing my ESO experience and I sincerely thank you for that.

I will also thank in advance for the new people taking over and keeping such fantastic add-ons alive.

Shame that the dev's don't do something to help bolster the people that write and maintain these addons. Honestly, I couldn't play this game without addons like Mr Wykkyds.

Sad to see you go, but I'm glad you took the time to make sure your hard work was well taken care of and didn't just abandon it.
