Please Remove Unnecessary Invisible Walls

Hi there,

One of the things I enjoy about this game is the opportunity to explore my environment outside of the quest areas but like many others will agree, that is hindered by the sheer number of the game's invisible walls.

Yesterday I was exploring Stros M'Kai and I came across Rash Merchant's Plummet. It is essentially a broken bridge connected to a tiny island which I tried unsuccessfully to cross multiple times. No matter what I did I always "plummeted" 3/4 of the way across as I came across an invisible wall which forced my character to move up and off the bridge.

I recently experienced a similar situation in Baelborn Rock in Glenumbra where an invisible wall prevents my character from jumping across a small gap to ascend the final broken staircase of a ruined tower.

I'm sure many of you have experienced this annoyance yourselves and can recall many occasions where this has ruined your fun.

Zenimax, please remove these unnecessary hindrances, they only serve to undermine our gameplay experience and there's no harm done by climbing towers or jumping across broken bridges.

    Rash Merchant can be done ... The invisible wall doesn't prevent you from crossing ... if done correctly.

    Most of the invisible walls are in place to prevent exploits. If a character can climb to some of these locations, they would be able to hit enemies with ranged or AoE attacks without fear of damage to themselves.

    Granted, I also like to explore the odd areas; I really enjoyed the feeling of accomplishment when I scaled mountains in Skyrim, so it would be nice if there were more "openings" to let us into these areas, but maybe leave walls in p[lace so we can't attack once in them.

    Thanks for your reply.

    I understand your point about them being used to prevent exploits and I agree that it is important, but there may be more innovative ways to deal with that problem.

    Having said that, the tower at Baelborne Rock is far too high for mobs to be targetted on the ground and likely doesn't require an invisible wall.

    It is supposed to be a challenge to get across that bridge. It can be done, but it's not an invisible wall that is dropping you, it is the object clipping on the bridge not giving you a place to stand.

    Note I saw a video of a guy who could cross that bridge. All during the video he is saying how easy it is. Then at the end of the video he shows his outtakes and practice attempts. After watching that part of the video, I lost all interest in trying to cross it. Especially as there is nothing on the islands.

    This is a different video, but it does show all the failures in the attempt. The other video has a lot of cussing in it.

    For example, the below wall in Hallin's Stand. The drop from the watchtower to the wall is like 15 feet, easily doable but the invisible wall makes it impossible. I have never really been irritated by invisible walls before because many times they are out of the way and you have to REALLY try to reach the point that the invisible wall is blocking off. If a player could just hop to the place that is blocked off... we really shouldn't encounter a wall. It's ludicrous!

    For every invisible wall, there are 2 possible options.
    1. Remove the wall and allow players to traverse the area beyond
    2. Add a barrier so the wall is no longer invisible. A big rock... a WALL...

    Just please don't choose the 3rd option which, which we all know is the most likely...
    • Ignore the frustration it makes some people feel and continue doing it anyway.
