Templar Questions for a Noob
Im playing a Templar right now not so far in the Game with Level 23 started three days ago with ESO, the Issue im having is the Gameplay starting to get boring because of the abilities. Dragon Knights abilities look much more fun to play with but im only at the beginning so i cant tell how the Templar will be with all Skills unlocked. Does this change later on ? I dont want really start from the scratch again....

In direct answer to your question I love my Templar but play styles will be heavily influenced by whether you go Magicka/Stamina for you main pool which ends up determining which abilities you end up using.1 -

Yeah youre right, there isnt that much difference specially because i play as a Meele Character. Most of the fun abilities comming from the Weapon Skilllines so i Need to play both a bit more to see what makes the most fun. A big issue with the Dragonknight is, i call it overused, i dont know if thats only on the low Levels but DKs are everywhere followed by Mages.
Btw: i dont search for OP stuff what are mostly personal opinions anyway, i want to have fun with my Character and thats all.0 -
Anyone can tell me how passives work, at wich Point do the Count as active specially for the Class Skilllines. Do i need to have certain abilities equipped or the ultimate to make passives Count or what ?
Its clear for weapons where passives only Count if i have the right weapon equipped and the same for armor passives what seem to Count with at least one or two items of the same armor type. But how is this working with the passives of the Class Skills, do they Count as soon as i equip only one ability in my Action bar ?0 -

Ignore the ignorants. The days of the DK being king of all are very much over. No i am not saying they are useless, far from it, but being the only dominant class? No longer when it comes to PvP.
Templars are a very nice class, it does seem boring at first, but i find any class boring early level in PvE zones but they are very fun to play in PvP and can be very strong tanks,DPS or great support to friends and allies.
The same can be said for any class now, but a Templar is almost impossible to take down 1v1 when built right.1 -
Sure sure i already tested the DK and picked the Templar and its like i said i dont search for OP or anything like that. Sure i want to compeed in the end with the Games Endcontent but more for PVE, im not a fan of PVP. There isnt that much difference between the Classes but i still need to learn much.
Im still not sure how the passives for the Class Skilllines work like i said above and what i should do with the Attribute Points. Some say put all in one where i think thats not really whise because one Point only gives 111 Points for each Attribute and most is coming from armor pieces anyway so why not split a bit. As a Tank for example why i should put everything into Stamina or Magicka when Health should be also important only because you get health from the Armor ? That can be said for the other side aswell, you get Stamina or Magicka from Armor aswell. I think it is good to find the right Balance between damage/heal and survivability, what does it help if i have enough Magicka for my spells but get killed by a Boss in one hit.
PS: It also seems that they changed a few if not many abilities from the Templar from AoE to single Target, im barely new but i watched many Videos and Guides etc and between all the Nerfs they changed many of the abilities. Surely better for PvP but like in all MMOs this has a negative effect on Pve. The Templar need a bit more AoE stuff in my opinion, i have all Class Skills unlocked including the improvements and it lacks in Aoe Spells.Edited by WeylandYutani on April 5, 2015 2:31PM0 -
