Is it a good idea to leave my laptop plugged in and patching ESO for an extended period?

For all you players with not-so-great download speeds, from personal experience, do you prefer to leave your systems on, plugged in, and patching ESO for extended periods, or wait until you find a spot with better DL speeds? Been doing the first patch for my game (a 20GB patch) for around 11 hours now, only got 7GB done because of my Frontier download speed of a whopping 120KB/s.. I've been plugging in and unplugging my laptop every 2 hours or so, because I worry my battery life will deteriorate. Is it best to keep doing this, or just leave it plugged in for the whole process?

I just got the game as a gift from a friend, and I haven't even gotten to play yet Hoping it will finish soon..

I would say it depends on the stability of your connection. If it's only slow you can leave it running for a long time. But should the connection time out sometimes it's probably no good idea. Interrupting the download process may cause corrupted files and in the end you will have to redownload large chunks of files again.

For your battery issue: If you leave it plugged in occasionally it should be okay. It probably depends on the type of battery and the charger, but I don't know much about that

Just plug in your laptop and let it go over night, as long as you have a stable connection.
My wife never unplugs her laptop from the wall, and it has no effect on the battery.

If you are on a wireless connection and you can plug your router into it directly you will cut your download time greatly.

At least here the wireless speed it half the speed when plugged it.
It drops from 100 Mbs to 54Mbs.

Thanks for the info guys. Finished the 20GB patch just an hour ago and now have been installing really tony patches. 23% complete now
