Vexian✭✭You get to explore the other regions once you complete the main story for your starting region.
And for guilds, all guilds you joined are server based so if you join a guild on a character, every character you have will also be in those guilds. The reason why I bring that up is because there is no restriction on what alliances you pick for each of your characters. In short you can be in the same guild with people from every faction but you cannot group with them unless you are a member of the same action5
