No More Dialog UI (Immersion Request)

Please Zenimax give me a way to turn off the written dialog within the game. I want to enjoy the story, and I want to enjoy the amazing voice acting that you have put into this game, but I just can't seem to ever really get into it and enjoy it.

I know for me personally, and many of the people that I have talked to, the dialog UI is a very distracting element of the game. I want to listen to this great voice acting you have placed in the game, but I can't help myself from reading the dialog from the UI far faster than the NPC can actually say it. This really kills the feel of the quest and ruins all the unexpected moments in dialog. I have tried my hardest not to read from that UI, but hard as I may try, my brain sees it and wants to make sense of it.

Now on PC this may not be a huge deal. I most likely can just write an addon that gets rid of that part of the ui, but gives me the dialog options in another ui. However, on console this is not going to be an option. I would really encourage you to give players an option to turn off this dialog ui, or possibly even have it off by default like Skyrim.

I would love to hear what the other players think of this also. So please leave your comments below.

I'm sure someone could come with an addon for this... maybe it has been already made, have you checked it? :)

I'm not sure if the demand/relevance for such a change would be enough to make it worth their time (I think it is, I'm just being realistic =( ) however there's a whole lot of people from all around the world that aren't really good in listening/speaking english so it's really awesome that all dialogue is "subbed" and the text is easily available for everyone as well :)

One thing you could do... (I did it a few times with the main storyline) is to keybind an easy hotkey for the "HIDE UI" control and press it whenever you start a dialogue... It's not optimal, but at least you'll have a clear screen and will be able to focus on the character and their speech :)

Yeah like I said, I think there should certainly be an option to enable the UI for people that are good at listening to english, or for when you are going to play without any sound. Also i am sure you can write an addon to do this, but that won't be possible on the console versions of the game, and that is were my main concern with this lies. I have been playing on the PC so far, but plan to play on the consoles also when that comes out.

There is an option to turn off UI - I have bound a key to it. I use it for taking screencaps. Have you tried playing that way?

I guess that would still be immersion breaking in my opinion. The fact that I would need to press a button to fully hide the UI only during dialog sequences, and only until they are done talking, then enable it to select my text option, and disable it again once I am done selecting my choice. I personally wouldn't consider that a solution, and certainly won't be something that I could see being easily done on console.

Thank you very much for pointing out that addon. I will certainly check that out for my PC edition. My concern I guess is still that this will not be possible on the console version, and that is the place that I think the immersion aspect is going to mean a lot more to people.
