Ledgermain and character advancement

So last night when I couldn't sleep I decided to slink around on my NB thief/scout /assassin build, it occurred to me that while a good source of gold and a nice pvp skill legerdemain doesn't advance your characters experience advancement at all. So I thought about how it could be adapted to do that. One of the things I came up that would be easy to implement is a NPC or a board similar to the writ boards that issued out marks for different NPCs/buildings or maybe a quest for a required item. What ideas can you come up with to make using this skill line more enticing after the novelty has worn off?

Legerdemain does give you a little XP from the chests, etc. Not a huge amount, but some.

Beware that this does NOT happen in low-level zones (more than 5 levels below you), just like the mobs there give you no XP.

That is true but that was in the game before Ledgermain on the random world chests. Think about it though should sneaking around avoiding NPCs to pick lock a advance chest give the same amount of experience as randomly finding a chest to pick lock?

I've actually been using Legerdemain as a "lateral progression" option for my characters precisely because I don't want them to level up too fast.

Well, that, and money. You know, for bank space, bag space and stuff like that.

Yes, because with world chests, I have to do a lot of legwork. With the safeboxes, I can get, lessee, up to about 18 in 20 minutes on a good day. Sure, it's not great if you're XP grinding, but it's very nice for money grinding!

In terms of overall (xp + gold) payoff, it feels about comparable to most other grinding options. Bit less XP, bit more gold. Get about 15k in an hour, and then you've used up your fence for the day. Could do it again on all your alts, spend eight hours a day, get about 120kgold/day, but that sounds tedious.

I expect the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood will provide the quests associated with Justice. It would be good if they also came with repeatables (and if repeatables were added to Fighters Guild and Mages Guild as well).

I agree but until then I would like to see something justice system wise similar to crafting writs. There is a "repeatable" fighter guilds quest but you do have to spend a skill point to get access to them, they are also in Cyrodill which might turn some of even considering them.

BTW in regards to char advancement, ZOS should add more skill points to the game for a skill line with a total of 20 available point allocations

That makes no sense. It's not like the aggro range shrinks in this game. Level 5 npcs will call the VR14 guards just as quickly as VR10 npcs.

No, because I would sit in a corner with auto-run in sneak mode and get ridiculous xp.

What I have been noticing is that while almost all chests give legerdemaine exp, not all of them give regular exp. And some do not give either kind of exp even when my character is within 5 levels.

The guards are really wimpy in low level areas. Still immortal, but they hit like kittens in comparison to the vet level areas. Which makes sense, you want a player to be able to survive a hit or two, not to get one-shotted by them. So, guard damage and chest XP rewards care about level. But it's kind of cool that the rest of legerdemain does not care: you can grind for cash anywhere, wherever you most enjoy.
