Why the locks on enemy Seige ?

I understand this is probably a UI problem first of all but a great strategy in warfare is going behind enemy artillery lines , ambushing the operators quickly and turning that very artillery directly down on the enemy forces , then destroying it . It's a basic special forces maneuver .

So , if there was a way to remove the UI that only allows you to destroy enemy ballista and Trebs and allow you to take over that piece of siege in this manner , would you be cool with it ? A second option to destroy the equipment would also need to be in place . But would this add a new meta to the Seige battles instead of just firing at each other from a distance ? I'm aware we can always go behind and set up our own and create a Seige flank but I thought this option would be nice for areas already taken up with all the available ballista space .

I believe the problem would come as to how damage siege to siege would be done. Would you be able to have that piece of siege damage enemy siege, could it be damaged by its own factions siege? Or would you just "capture" the siege turning it to your faction after getting onto it. But technical problems aside this would be a fun thing to do, but it would need a good amount of work to fit into the game well.

I get what you're saying . Interesting aspect if the Seige is coded to only damage opposite factions it would have to be flipped to the capturing teams faction . Now I'm curious how Seige is coded .

Maybe they could add a quickslot item similar to the siege repair, only it captures the siege and allows you to use it or pick it up.

That's a smart idea if it could become a option . I like that ...

hehehe.... imagine being in the open field, and someone set up a fire balistae. you kill the operator, capture the balistae, and turn it against the enemy, and they dont even know!:D

Flipping a siege would be an interesting mechanic; I think it should take longer to enact than burning though, say by 4 or 5 seconds. Maybe a passive could then give "Reduced time to commandeer siege weapons".
