Crashing all the time since the big update

Since 1.6, I've been crashing all the time. I do wonder if it's related to addons, but all the addons I'm using have been updates multiple times since 1.6 was released, nothing is out of date.

Is there any way to tell what caused the crash from the crash reporter? I've gone through the text but it doesn't seem to give any special error codes or anything.

No, there's not much there for parsing on your own.

It will happen if you play with your addons turned off as well.

The only thing that improved it for me was repairing my dotNet 4.0 installation. Since I did that, it only seems to happen when I open up crafting tables or use wayshrines, and it happens less frequently.

Something to do with the netcode maybe. Dunno.

    Crash occured 1h ago.
uTorrent bittorrent client caused memory leak. Whole 16gb was used, game freezed.
Look at your memory usage when crash occurs.

I have the exact same problem.

My game crashes every 5 minutes (and that's even an understatement!). I tried everything that came to mind: I de- and reinstalled the game, I ran every possible system scan on my PC, I updated the graphics driver of my PC, I repaired the TESO client, I ran a clean startup on my system - and still it crashes (and I don't use ANY addons).

This, dear zenimax, is NOT acceptable - and I am quite angry about this situation.

I sincerely hope that there will be a patch or something to fix this. Otherwise, there is no point in maintaining my profile.

    Try this:
Open C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live (or liveeu for EU server)
    open usersettings.txt file.
    Change similiar strings to this:
    SET RequestedNumJobThreads "0"
    SET RequestedNumWorkerThreads "0"

I can confirm that this worked for me. After having crashes every half hour or so I did the above and haven't crashed in over 12 hours play time. Being half blind and not tech minded I have no idea what it did, I only know that I no longer crash and the game still looks very nice.

I have searched/asked as to what exactly this setting does to the game (from a technical standpoint); haven't been able to get a definitive answer yet either.

I could be wrong, but it looks like a setting for multi-threading. Might give that a try.

I did the above tweak and it does seem to have stopped crashing, for the time being anyhow, did two three to four hour long sessions with no crashes.
