Only by the spell resistance part of the armor not directly by the armor value. The only thing that is effected directly by armor value is physical damage, everything else is by your spell resistance and your secondary resistance (poison resistance)

It all depends on which resistance is higher, as only the highest is used or checked.

So if you have 2500 spell resistance but only 1000 fire resistance, and you get hit by a fire attack, your general spell resistance is used as the check to reduce damage.

But if your cold resistance is 3000 and your spell resistance is 2500 and you get hit by a cold attack, the cold resistance stat is used instead.

So to answer your question, if you use the CP to increase your spell resistances and that made your spell resistance higher then your normal poison resistance, then yes, it would help against poison attacks. But if your normal poison resistance is still higher then your spell resistance, it does nothing for poison attacks.

So if I understand you correct, it is no reason to stack fire ressist since spell ressist gives the same ressistant, plus you stack spell ressist on heavy armor passive and Dragon Knight passive?

I thought before this answer, that if you had 2000 spell ressist, it would share its ressistance on every type of spell damage, so if its 7 different spell damage (fire, frost, shock, magic, daedric, poison and disease), you will get the spell ressistance 2000 / 7 = 285 ressist on each type of damage.

If you are a Dragon Knight tank, and get the spell ressist benefit from DK passive, heavy armor passive and champion point passive: Is it any reason for you then, to stack fire ressist on jewlery?
