Quick thing about siege damage, everyone should read:

On a side note I think guards should take no, or very little, siege damage as they can be trivialized from their former role of allowing a speedbump to allow defenses to come in by fighting players.

I'm enjoying it... It would have been nice if the team could have collected questions from the forum to ask... but we get how these things work. They're less interviews and are more like advertisements.

Listened to part time of it, well most of it. Brian did almost all the talking.

• Update Monday for Cyrodiil, adjustments to seige, server performance, adjusting when & how population bonus is done. Among others.
• Updates next Monday after that or hot fix to continue adjusting siege damage, server issues.Campaigns opening or changing if needed (carefully watching, rather have wait que than empty campaigns.)
• Strong commitment to fixing problems in Cyrodiil.
• Discussed trading AP for XP, maybe PvP vendor coin.
• Mentioned perhaps doing away with Leaderboard, numbers, people playing to be top not for a campaign being a "home", Possible changes to Emperor to help change the dynamics.
• Cyrodiil only buffs is almost impossible with way UI is coded. Possible but difficult. Described Emperor only having buffs outside Cyrodiil, but really doesn't want to take away from everyone's Raid needs.
• Toggle is possibility for turning off xp gain in case someone wanted to stay under vr1 and in the Under vet only campaign.
• Talked about Movement in Cyrodiil- likely no forward camps if they did bring back they'd be only usable in area size of a keep footprint, perhaps more outposts to enable travel & make more objectives.
• Also about movement: essential to allow friends to play with friends, so keeping travel to player to enter campaigns.
• Campaign change costs are staying the same for now.
• EU server is almost ready or is ready to have another campaign, soon NA will too. Watching carefully. Lots of new/returning players.
• Some new stuff coming soon: Types of projectile's from siege (hinted at didn't give it all away), Adjustments to battle leveling, Changes to Points for Resources vs Keeps.
• New ideas they are considering: Another resource besides farms/mines etc, Having a payback for taking resource like High yield nodes or something. Caravans (if the can fix lag) for selling/buying, Crafting Set locations, more outposts or objectives.
• hmm missed some but fingers tired.

This has me interested. I love going in non-vet pvp and have done a lot to avoid having any of the characters in it out-level and the new buffs to exp gain have made that a challenge. Excited to hear that this is around.

Any word on allowing all types of builds to be competative in pvp?

Undoing or countering solely dps builds by pressing 1 and then unleasing 2 and 3 dps makes the pvp element so dull no one apart from the red zerg will stick around.

And he considered making it enticing for all types of players? or is this far from his brief or mindset?

He works with a team but his area is not builds or the player meta. So no, he didn't address those things. There is a thread stickied at the top, for his Q and A tomorrow. You can ask those questions.

No new/confirmed information in this interview. You aren't missing anything if you don't listen to it, but it is nice to see hear what they've been thinking about and the reasons why certain things won't work. It is a good listen.

No battlegrounds a year after release isn't a surprise. As long as Cyrodiil remains underpopulated, the chances for instanced battleground pvp in ESO are slim to none. They were all in on Cyrodiil/DAoC years before launch and still are all in on Cyrodiil/DAoC a year after launch even as the number of campaigns in Cyrodiil dropped from 10 instances to 2.
