Returning to Tamriel Unlimited

I stopped playing a month or two ago (probably about 6 weeks) and returned upon hearing about Tamriel Unlimited, and after skimming through the giant 1.6 notes, I am stumped. I am trying to figure out decent race/class/weapon combos. Right now I am looking at a DPS build for a Templar, I was thinking Breton/Imperial. If I went Breton I would probably use Destruction Staves if I go Imperial I am considering 2h.

What would be a efficient race for Templars as well as a good weapon combo? (EX: Destruction / Restoration, 2h / Bow, 2h / Destruction, etc.)

I play a templar with the altmer (high elf) race, and I use 2H and resto staff. I enjoy it and have fun (currently VR4), but I'm certainly no theorycrafter. My intent is to do DPS when I solo, with some quick heals equipped, and then go full healer in difficult dungeon, and combo DPS/healer on easy dungeons.

@ebaccus89_ESO, your choices are the most common I'd say, magicka or stamina depending on your main role (healer or DPS/tank). The Imperial is arguably more flexible as they get good health and stamina buffs, leaving gear/pots/food to handle any magicka short-fall.

I go Resto/2H-Sword DPS on my current two Templars, one Imperial, one Nord, my next one (!) is a Breton Resto/Destro healer.

That said, Templar is a very flexible class and there are exceedingly capable Argonians floating around.
