Guild Trader, how do i use?

How do I use the guild trader system?

I go up to different ones but I never see anything on them. Do you have to be in there guild to use them?
Also, how can I find out where MY guild's, guild trader is, is there something in guild window that indicates my guild trader location?

I like this guild trader concept better than GW2 tradepost because it makes it feel like there is some kind of relationship going on with the seller.
In Diablo 3 and GW2 its just put it on tradepost and hope someone buys it, theres no connection at all, you dont know who sold ya it or anything, dont know who bought it and so on either.

Everquest had this kind of system in a way, the bazaar, you have to keep your computer on while you stand in the trade area. You either was trading or playing the game, none of this play game and trade. Thats not the point though, point is, you know who is helping the community out by selling gear for low levels, high levels, and so on (hardly anyone sells to middle levels lol). You also could tell who the buyers were, and who were the monopoly buyers, as in they buy everything pretty much inelastic (like all the iron ores, and they force price go up or drop it down) and they control the market type people (I was one of those players in EQ  )

Anyways, I'm proud this game doesnt go the tradepost, auction house, whatever type selling system, because not only do you not get connected with the community, it really drives prices down hard, because anyone can put that junk item in the tradepost, and eventually its 1 gold worth, but if not everyone can do that, it makes it worth at least something due to not a 1000000 sitting in the tradepost waiting to be sold, but rather you have to find someone, (guild trader) in this matter to sell you it. Guild trader I find is nice because it gives the guild some reputation by guild x has all the high level group gear stuff, guild y has all the tradeable raid gear, guild z likes to help newbs, etc etc etc. Thats what I assume, havent found any items on any guild traders, dont know how to use it.

So back to my main question, how do I use the guild trader, do I have to be in the guild? If thats the case, I really think you shouldnt have to be in the guild, thats my personal opinion. Also, how do you find where your guild's guild trader is??

You can buy from any guild trader in the world, but you can sell only through your own guilds. If the traders you see don't have anything, maybe you're just looking in an unpopular location? Major towns usually have better stocked traders, try a place like Rawlk'ha, Riften or Belkarth.

To see your guild's trader, open the guild page (G) and in the first tab you should see spaces for owned trader and keep in Cyrodiil. You probably don't have a keep, but the trader's name and location will be visible - if you have a trader, that is. Bids are weekly, so it's entirely possible that your guild may be without a trader every now and then. Even in enstablished spots you can sometimes meet unexpected competition.

You need to be in their guild to sell things through that kiosk. You can buy from any of them.

By default the screen will be blank and you pick your search parameters on the left, then press R (by default) to start a search. Though, if you search for something they don't have, then it will return nothing. Sometimes I just do a general search on a kiosk to see if there's anything listed if my normal searches come back empty.

Also, I would recommend the AwesomeGuildStore addon. It makes that interface much better.

Ya I checked the ones in Belmurda, starting city, like outside the thieves hideout and up the hill are a few guild traders, but never see anything on them. So that made me assume nobody was selling anything. So what your saying is to get something to be inside that window I have to use a search parameter? Also, what is bidding on guild trader?

I think to help other newbs like myself, TESO should remove that tutorial or make it super short, and spend more time bringing me around the city and showing me how to use stuff. To be honest, I'd really like a tour around the city lol. Like another simple stuff is dyes, I rarely dye my armor because I dont have any dyes, everyone that helps me out makes it a huge deal I gotta dye my armor lol. Honestly would've never knew about dyes if someone didnt tell me. Doesnt change the fact I dont see it as a big deal as a lot of people that help me in game make it though. Also, enchantments, people help me out and gave me green armor, so I assume its already enchanted until like lvl 13 and someone helped me out and said dont forget to enchant, and I'm there thinking 'what ya mean its already enchanted', I learned that theres enchantments and nothing comes enchanted regardless of the color (I assume). It goes over how to make enchantments, but not how do you put it in your armor, and use them. Think I got this misconception of color being already enchanted with by playing way too much Diablo2, if items colored, cant go bring it to the guy who does his enchanting (guy in first zone, smith person) because colors mean enchanted already. How would I figure this out if nobody told me??? Game could've went over stuff like that instead of long tutorial zone.

But ya, I'll try figuring out where the filters are and search, seems similiar to GW2 tradepost, shows nothing at first until you put in some filters. To be honest I like EQ bazaar system better, where it just shows everything at first, I think they made it so you can filter out items you 'dont want to see', rather than what I think this approach is doing by filtering out everything to make it look like nobody selling anything lol.

    Edit,
One thing I liked about the Elder Scrolls games was that during load screen they have tips. I suggest this game do the same, because I feel like there is sooo much I still dont know and I'd like to learn something, and perfect spot to learn something is waiting on loading screen while tips and screenshots are going slideshow.

Good lord, another thread and you keep butchering this name. :D You did Spindleclutch, so I assume you mean Glenumbra.

Guilds compete for traders. Every week guildmasters pay for their chosen spot and the highest bidder wins (of course, losers get their money back).

It used to... Kind of. Initially we were dropped on the starter island where there's only one big town with little more than a bank and crafting stations, all in close proximity. So people naturally started interacting with everything in sight before getting involved in all kinds of quests. In larger mainland towns these places are more spread out - especially in Daggerfall.

Color refers to quality of the item, nothing more. Enchantment will have its own description in the tooltip. There are also traits, which are different thing altogether. Traits are permanent and fixed at the time of item creation, enchantments can be replaced and need to be recharged when they run out.

I wouldn't bother with enchantments at your level, they don't make much difference. Besides, you often use looted items or quest rewards and they usually come pre-enchanted.
