How to back up settings & Controls - restore on ALL toons

It is extremely frustrating and tedious to get the settings and key bindings set the same on multiple toons.
Where is the option to keep settings & control changes global?
or How can I back up my changes for a later restore (to any character)?

There's apparently an addon that does this, but it really should be part of the UI.

It's not like I'm going to use differnt buttons for Ultimate or email for different toons. Or colour-code my guilds differntly...

The add-on is apparently outdated and no longer supported. Hence my concern - there should be a supported method!

The game stopped resetting everything on each patch, that was when it was really bad. Some Addons have a check box for Global Settings, like the Master Merchant Mod.

There are Add-Ons to copy key bindings from one account to another, but since they stopped resetting those on each patch, I question the need. The only thing left is your add on settings for each character. And, since those settings propogate between patches now too, I question the real need for that.

The only time it's really an issue now is setting up a new character. I guess the Key Bind copy mod could help out with that. Not sure what to do with the Addons, but you can set what characters use what addons in the Character Select screen. Just choose the drop down on the left hand side. You can change all the characters add ons in one place without logging on to them or reloading the UI on each change.

So, this pain your feeling is a lot less than it was back before patch 1.4 (1.5?)

While the fact that keybindings don't reset for patches is nice, I had my HDD crash and burn two weeks ago and I had to redownload the game and reset everything, so global keybindings would have been nice.

Nestor, you clearly have your settings established and do not need to change or tweak them any more.

I still tweak mine trying to find a balance, and any new toons just add to the problem. The add-ons do seem to do a better job than the base game, I am not so much worried about them, just need a stable solution for the game itself.

BTW, What add-ons, Nestor? I only know of one, and it is "discontinued"

Even though I'm now mostly done creating new characters (for the short term anyway) I still find the ability to copy key bindings useful because my layout is a constant work in progress. I keep tweaking things as I find particular keys annoying or difficult to use. It's much easier to just save them each time I'm done playing a character and load them when I start than to remember all the changes I may have made during a 2+ hour play session.

I use Binder for saving key bindings. It does show as outdated but it works perfectly well with the latest version of the game.

And Unified Chat Tabs to save chat tab colours and settings (mainly the colours).

Thank you, Danikat. I am trying out Binder. It is a partial solution.

I sure hope Zenimax comes up with a complete solution, especially if they expect to keep all those new customers they are hoping to get.

I think it was Binder. I only used it a couple of times and the change happened to eliminate the need. I don't think I ever got it to work, but I did not spend much time on it to be honest.

I agree that control settings should be account wide. I can't imagine anyone would ever have different keybindings on different characters, I know it would confuse the heck out of me when playing. Different Addons and settings for those? Yep, those are different, at least on my game.

Binder works. Still works.
When ZOS accidentally reset everyone's ui with a patch last summer it was a life saver.
Wykkds also saves one for all characters as does Srrendar, pChat ,Azzura & many others.

Good to hear that so many Addons out there that do this important Feature work. Though ofc Natural & best solution would be for Zenimax Online Studios Crew to implement this into Settings. Hopefully Community Manager @ZOS_GinaBruno or some other C.Manager takes this idea for the Developers
