need the total xp to get to level 50

Hey smart people.

We need the total amount of xp needed to get from level 1 - level 50 so we can subtract that from total XP uploaded to Oghma and do the math for VR levels.

Anyone have that handy?

I don't mean from 49-50 I mean the cumulative amount

THANKS!

WOW! So 13 million for all the VR levels? Here I am struggling with 1-50. Guess I won't be here long :(

leveling in WoW is so much fun. ESO it's a huge grind that's simply not necessary.

... I'm an altoholic too...13 million, yea that's not happening lol!

    1) XP payouts are higher in vet zones. (Before 1.6 you could expect to get a vet rank for doing about 80% of the content in a Vet Zone. I'm not sure how it works out now, though.) (There's been some nerfs since 1.6 to deal with people farming CP at an accelerated rate and I've heard that some zones aren't paying out as much XP as they used to.)

    2) Vet ranks are being phased out in favor of Champion Points... at some point in the future. So then the level cap will be 50.

    3) Hitting 50 the first time is a lot harder than heading there for a second. (You should have the mechanics down and have a pretty good idea of what you need to be able to do.)

    4) The Champion Point system is account wide... so, if you work on any vet character you're simultaneously working on all your alts. (Though the specific impact is pretty negligible.)

In Leveling you get 8 to 10 levels per zone, in VR you get around one VR Rank per zone. But don't focus on that, focus on zones.

If you mostly complete a zone, you get a VR Rank. Don't worry about it, it will happen if you just play through the content. If you grind a little along the way (chasing the Monster Hunter Achievement is a good exercise for this) then you will get more than one VR rank exp per zone. I am currently VR5 and just started the third zone in Caldwell's Silver (and I left content behind too)

BTW, it used to be multiple millions of exp to go from VR12 to VR13.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

ZOS needs to cut the xp to level vet ranks by at least 50% until they remove the ranks completely(if that is still in their plans..). Honestly, the best thing to do is take VR leveling slowly, but that's not how progression is for most MMO players. ZOS can call it V14 or LV64. It doesn't matter which. Players will never see LV50 or V1 as endgame and no one is going to take a V1 to go do some trials. As for PvP, good luck fighting a V14 with a V1 character.

I'll say it again in this thread, my guild community had 71 players join at launch. I doubt at least 10 of those players would ever come back due to the VR grind alone(most laughed it off when I told them the vet level cap was increased, since they last played..).

The grind/progression in this game should be more about unlocking skill lines, getting new gear, exploring new areas, etc. Not doing a thousand quests or grinding a million mobs just to level one char.

Funny you mention that. I recently had a 30 min(or more) long duel with a VR14 DK while I was on my VR1 Sorc. Neither one of us could kill each other so we did /bow at each other and moved on. Take that for what you will.

As to the second bolded portion I have had the exact opposite experience and my guild which formed during beta has retained the overwhelming majority of our initial members(about 50) to this day, and even added more since. So your experience(and mine) is anecdotal at best and shouldn't be used as an argument for or against anything.

Its super important for me to get this number as I won't be able to determine vet rank without the total exp needed to 50

Thanks for the help! You accidentally added them one line out-of-sync, so I've shifted them up to the appropriate place.

We're also trying to record the XP reward from quests at different levels, so if anyone has any of those values floating around, it would be great if you could post the name of the quest, and the XP you got when you completed it (and also whether you are subbed to ESO Plus or not, as that distorts the values). For example:
The Final Assault (Lvl 50) 11227 XP, without ESO Plus
Timely Intervention (Lvl 50) 5489 XP, with ESO Plus

Max VR quest XP is 11227. In fact the only possible VR quest rewards are 499, 3742, 4990, 7485 and 11227; that's why it's not so easy for ZOS to just up XP rewards for certain quests - they must all come from those five, or ZOS needs to completely change something in the XP system.

You can create simple script which will print how many XP you need for level:
    /script d(GetNumExperiencePointsInLevel(level))

If you want to get total number of XP for levels 1 - 49 (there is no real level 50, it is VR1), use simple script:
    local total = 0
    for level = 1, 49 do
        local xp = GetNumExperiencePointsInLevel(level)
        d(zo_strformat("Level <<1>>: <<2>>", level, xp))
        total = total + xp
    end
    d("-----------------")
    d(zo_strformat("Total: <<1>>", total))

You can run this script for example in ZAM Notebook.
    Output:
    709g0l.jpg

For veteran ranks is similar function - GetNumVeteranPointsInRank(veteranRank)

OK maybe I am mistaken, but please don't accuse me of lying - maybe your XP recorder is still using the defunct Veteran Points values from before Update 5. I tested those numbers extensively before deciding that it was the same across the board for Veteran Ranks. Here are some examples:
    Completing Craglorn's "The Star-Gazers" at VR1: 3742 XP
    Completing Craglorn's "The Star-Gazers" at VR14: 3742 XP
Completing "Crafting Certification" at VR1: 4990 XP
Completing "Crafting Certification" at VR14: 4990 XP

Completing "Alchemist Certification" at VR14: 3742 XP

Completing "Welcome to Cyrodiil" at VR1: 4990 XP
Completing "Welcome to Cyrodiil" at VR14: 4990 XP
Completing "Taking the Undaunted Pledge" at VR1: 11227 XP

Kind of makes sense as each VR Rank now has the same Exp needed to gain. So, quests should give out the same exp.

What would be interesting to see, is if the Exp drops, and by how much, for a VR14 to finish a VR1 quest. I know the Mob Exp goes down.
