I was wondering if it s ok to ask for all the tree to open to everyone.. Say if you do some epic quest at cap you can unlock sorc/dk/nb/templar skill line... would that be too much power tbh?

So everyone just uses the most powerful abilities from every class until they are all nerfed and the game is stale? yeah right.

I think half of you forget that some of us do actually like to PvP in this game. Ugh I give up honestly.

hmm....... how about add some sort of restriction. you can only have tree active prime tree at any time... will that do?

The idea behind classes in MMO's is restriction. But not to stop people from being what they want to be, rather to enhance it.

Limitation in choice creates value in what you have. It creates a purpose to be different. Which in a competitive arena, people will seldom be willing to risk these days, because their personal skill is often much lower than their ability to copy someone better.

Without restrictions everything becomes very stale, its similar in gw2 with everyone essentially offering the same things. Everyone can perform any role, which people think on the surface is a good thing, until it becomes evident that everything is dumbed down and balanced around the most overpowered concepts.

PvE in gw2 is limited for that very reason. Without a healer class, the tempo of all PvE is changed. As the bosses can only be so difficult.

Now whilst everyone can heal in ESO, the class dynamic adds interesting variables (ones that still need balancing out certainly) but encourage people to try different things.

The good thing about forcing people to play different things in games, is that it also forces development of more intricate and interesting systems from the developers. Because they must focus on themes, doing things in different ways and adding layering.

If everyone has access to everything, the only skills in the limelight are the ones everyone uses. So the rest are neglected.

Whilst there are meta builds for all the different classes, that still gives us 4 instead of 1. Also the intereaction between these 4 different classes results in a greater amount of focus on said balance, as aposed to a massive reduction.

Simplicity is a terrible thing. Its actually making the average adult more stupid. We need more diversity between the classes, and a continuation of balancing and development/evolution.

Gw1 was a far superior game to GW2 for that very reason. I hope ZoS will stick to their guns, rather than see this mmo befall the fate of all the failed ones before it.

I would like that. A quest to unlock each of the classes (gain favour of the patron Aedra). Maybe even have the quests be as long as the mages or fighters guild lines. That way you have to really -work- for it. But I would agree that ZOS should lock them so that you can only put points into one class' skill line at a time. That would also force you to have to reskill everytime you want to swap - which would be a gold sink. And gives no-one a "I can swap in PvP" option that might be seen as unfair.

Would be nice for those of us that want to have 1 character do it all (albeit not all at once) instead of forcing us to have alts. But it doesn't restrict anyone from rolling alts for flavour either.

I never liked the class system in this game, but that's because I was expecting a Fallout/Skyrim style of game play. That being said I don't buy the argument that everyone would use all the best abilities, due to the fact that would cost a ton in skill points, and what would your character's focus be now that all class skills are not only Magicka based (post morph)?

Why are there still people that think being able to do everything is even remotely interesting or fun? This idea has been voiced so many times already and it is still a bad idea for exactly those reasons @RainfeatherUK has listed in the post quoted below.

Please, for the love of this game, stop asking for this.
