Please Please stop with these MASSIVE updates. Even this small incremental one is 750Mb. I mean really? Okay I have awful awful internet. This means 750Mb update may take between 6 - 12 hrs. So on a good week when it is this small I only lose a day and have to dedicate all of my internet to DL. But then each week we keep getting these big patches, I'm losing 2-3 gaming days a week on this.

Please just sort this $@#$% out.

I only downloaded about 560 megs. Took me about 20 mins for it to download and apply the patch and I have the lowest package from my provider which isn't that good

I'm on a copper 2meg line in the UK. And even for me it's about 20 mins to download 700meg.

Keep hearing how terrible (third world) internet is here in New Zealand. My download speeds for this game can be as high as 1.12mb per second, plus it's unlimited data. Not too bad for copper adsl. Next step in the 30x faster fibre connection.

The content for this game requires the large file size. Maybe you want to join the rest of us in 2014, instead of expecting the file sizes of the garbage from 2000.

I used to have crap internet too, until I upgraded to that U-verse thing.

It only took like 30 minutes for the dudes to install it at my home.

its a 1.5 Mb/s connection ($25/month) but I upgraded it to a 3Mb/s (35$/month for 12 months and after the 12 months its gonna go up to $65).
750MB= roughly 15-20 minutes with 3Mb/s


Just a suggestion, there are other internet companies out there you might wanna shop around.
But yeah, you need a good internet speed for this game or else the DL sizes and gameplay is gonna be terrible.

I feel your pain OP. Between my ISP having troubles over the last two weeks and them throttling (strangling) my DL speed, even small patches are taking the better part of the day.

Lucky me, turns out there's a cheaper and much faster alternative here in the boonies now and they'll be visiting to install soon. Shopping around is probably your best bet. Some companies even run promotions to cover early termination fees if you have a contract.

3mbit line, adsl, other crappy coonections. And you are talking about 2015?
I've got this 1mb/s speed in early 2000, now got 80mbit copper for 10$/month, but patch download speed is not higher than 1.5mb/s

A lot of patches for nearly all mmos games are like that for the first few years and longer you may need to look into faster internet. Just recently got mine from six to 12 mps total and they doing more imrpovements in my area to bring it up to par to the rest of the world by next year all I can say is complain to whoever does internet in your area about getting better prices and faster sppeeds

We're entering a new age of high definition gaming. It's only going to get worse as 4K resolution screens become the norm. Although I sympathize with your cause, in a way it's LPB's like you holding the rest of us back. At the end of the day, you just have to look at yourself in the mirror and realize that it's high time to get yourself a better internet connection. Or move to a better country. I've lived in a lot of countries with awesome and cheap internet. It's a thing, you know you want it because it's totally awesome, it's out there, and it's available to you right now!

Doing the right thing ain't always the easy thing, but sometimes you just gotta hop a bus, drift across a slaughterfish infested ocean on a raft, jump a level 10 border fence to Cyrodill and occasionally run like the wind because you might have to dodge some arrows aimed at your knee. But better internet is out there, and it's totally worth it!

So, I did the math.

Best case scenario:

6 hours to download = 21,600 seconds
750 MB / 21,600 seconds = 0.0347 MB/s
0.0347 MB/s x 1,024 KB/MB = 35.5 KB/s

Worst case, double the time and half the speed, is even worse. I'm really sorry, OP. I truly am...

Hey, I hear everything above, I truly do and hence I added that I'm QQing. I play MMO's cos I enjoy them, and yeah I find it hard to even play the game at times due to the network. On a bad night I might find myself dead before I can throw a punch.

Likewow777, i'm currently getting on the DL for the updates approx 17 - 20kB/s. Other websites etc. i'm getting 800KB's, but this patcher is a bit odd, I can actually download torrents 10 times faster then the 'dedicated' server.

As for shopping around - I'm in Papua New *** Guinea. Lucky I don't need to wind up a box to get some network. And i'm paying $400 USD a month for max 2mbs and unlimited (for what that's worth with those speeds) download.

Took 8 days for update 6!

I just wanted a QQ and hopefully this puts it into context.

Come on man, i can understand people moaning over 10gb+ patches but 750mb?

You will just have to accept, this game was not meant to be played by people with slow internet regardless whether that was your choice, or your country having obsolete infrastructure. ZOS is a company thus they will Never announce such high requirements when marketing their product.

Let me just enlighten you to one very important fact of life... It's all about the $$$

It would help if they just did the updates faster... other games patch a lot faster... but whatever.

My update was 3gb in total. It's still big for so few changes. I guess the coding is not so great.

My update is also bigger than 750 MB. It first downloaded something around this amount and then started again and says now just 25 % downloaded :-(

Last time I played was yesterday.
