When conducting research, does the trait value researched matter?

When conducting trait research, does the value (% or value) of the trait researched determine the trait value (% or value) of the trait at the conclusion of the research (the outcome). Does this trait (% or value) change with level increase or according to what the trait is attached to. The reason I ask is for example, I have noted some Divine Armor Traits are 3.5% and some are 4.5%, and on occasion one is 5.5%. If I research the 3.5% is that all I can make from now on a 3.5% Divine Armor Trait?...this is of concern, in particular with end game in mind.

    No, that doesn't matter.
If your armor ist normal (white color) it is, let's say 3%. If you upgrade it to green it gets 3.5% and when you reach golden, it is like 7.5%.
It is just a matter of upgrading the armor (or weapon).

A trait's power is determined by the item level and improvement during the crafting process, so no, the power of the trait in the item you research doesn't matter at all.
