Had some very STRANGE activity while playing tonight . It's a small fight of roughly 6 vs 6 and the lags not that high . I just dont understand why everything is acting so weird . Can anyone explain what I'm seeing here ?

    I have never seen that happen on a resource flag like that. Usually see it at Bleakers and with a lot more people in a tight space.

    believe me its not your system's problem, i was in that AD grp you were fighting, i was riding from ash to glade when my grp members were riding resources, and when i reach there i saw this crap, all my grp members experienced same, they were keep using skills but no att is registered for 5 mins, we won that flag just by outnumbering you guys by 2 ppl or so.

    No problem . If the system can't handle a small skirmish between AD and DC , just imagine a fight between two full raids of EP spamming the same abilities . I was happy to finally encounter a pulse group to show how quickly server performance plummets in the general vicinity . People all the way back on the keep reported to me they couldn't lay down trebs or ballista during that incursion . Knowing this play style , even with small numbers , causes lag storms is important .

    but really, when there is a lag and a DK has the Shifting standard morph, they can drop like 40 standards, all of which will count.

    Probably wont be fixed anytime soon though, seeing purge was broken from the beginning and they finally fixed it in 1.6.

    same thing happened again in same resource after 2 hours of this video, and this time there was not even blue opponents (i think 2, but they died before we reach flag), and we were keep hitting npc without our att registered, and finally all attacks happened (mag and stam was depleted completely) and we got the flag

    The only thing that you were missing was the total inability to use any abilities other than light attacks. This is basically what has been happening at every keep take with more than 10 people. I'm just glad there wasn't any EP there.....or were there? Maybe they were hiding behind the keep using healing springs where no one else could see them and being awesomesauce secret agent lagsploiters! B)

    Are you in EU?

    Because yesterday in thornblade 3 huge Zergballs ( 1 each faction ) have meet at the Aleswell farm. the result was pretty obvious for the campaign... it was as in your video, but the weird thing it was that even my guildmates that where in other campaigns have started lagging ( they where in small fights inside bruma in Chillren and other two where ganking in Azura, we where in TS3 togheder)

    This situation have lasted for 15 minutes without a crash ( the server and the client side) after that evrithing went back normal, in fact i have saw the other alliance members starting falling one after another and even my health bar was going down...
    It was weird usually when this happen after 2 minutes the istance crash and kick evryone that where inside the lagball.

    I belive that the thornblade istance have made lag in the entire megaserver...

    Dear PvP-Enthusiasts,


    I would like to suggest that there shouldn't be any more groups in Cyrodiil. Groups destroy the performance. Please prefer soloing while doing AvA and spread out as far as possible. In doing so you will avoid battles and furthemore you will avoid skill use and it will result in a much smoother experience and you can enjoy Cyrodiils flora & fauna even better.

    ZOS please take note that when this the events in this video were taking place, the EP server-attacking zerg was on the other side of the map around Arius. I have been trying so hard to help you understand that you are way off base when you talk about finding ways to make players spread out as a fix, and finally here is a video that proves it. If the server is being attacked and lagged out on one edge of the map, no one can do anything in the entire zone.

    So now that we understand that finding ways to make players spread out in Cyrodiil is not the solution, we can get back on track and ask an important question. What changes were made in 1.6 and beyond that broke Cyrodiil? Here are my ideas.

    1) Meteor has always been able to crash Cyrodiil. This is because if you cast it on a moving target it misses. Ultimate is not spent and it can be cast over and over again until it finally hits. I have seen the server crash from Meteor spam long before 1.6. The difference now is that more people are using Meteor due to its recent improvements. And now, the server doesn't actually crash. it just comes to a halt. I would almost prefer the server to crash so players cant use attacks on the server to win keeps and scrolls.

    2) Changes to the way AOE works. I am no expert but I'm going to guess that the server cant handle all the calculations coming in from AOE spamming zergs. Couple this together with the Meteor spam problem I mentioned above and you now have an ability that not only attacks players and guards, but it attacks the server itself! Every time I have been at the site of an attack on the server, it always begins with the sound and particle effects of Meteor spam on moving targets.

    I'm pretty sure there is more to this, but I bet if Meteor was changed to be a ground target spell, and the AOE changes are reverted, Cyrodiil will work again.

    Of course if you played your own game you'd know how bad it is in Cyrodiil, but clearly you don't. How can you continue to claim "hundreds of players on screen at the same time" whilst watching this video? It can barely manage ten!

    Just got back into the game after a long break, this used to happen along time ago because somewhere else on the map there was a big zerg ball spaming aoe's and it would screw the whole server. Since I got back though i've noticed hit registration is worse then before, even in pve. I can pull a mob of like 10 and have them all around me and some attacks just won't register. Thought they removed aoe caps?

    No, they modified them so the first 6 players hit get 100% damage, the next 12 get 60% damage etc, don't remember the exact numbers now. A lot of us thought that would just cause More calculations to have to be made, looks like that might be true.

    Question... is PVE being killed by PVP aoe spam zerg... or just certain skills are uberbugged ?

    Lets face it we have layer on layer of calcs to do.
    Weapon + trait + enchant + quality + Dots + Hots + Major/minor buffs + CS perks + passives + actives + class passives + guild passive + world passives + race passives..... + armour + trait + enchant + quality + dots + hots + major/minor buffs + CS perks + passives + actives.....etc
    All of which fire at every click of a button.
    Some which remain until timed out and must be tracked instead of forgotten.

    Now add upto 50 people hit by aoe...with 3 kind of damage groups to sort through.
    Plus poison - disease - fire - ice - lighting damage - heals - immunities
    Plus weapon/armour set bonuses
    ALL of which MUST be calculated...even if the server cant cope.
    All of which has to then update every single client..with all this info...every tick.

    LOL....surprised the server hasn't blown up trying to keep up :/
    Classic case of "Keep it simple stupid"... or use a damage queue ...or client offload

    It's pretty obvious that not only was EP in the opposite hemisphere when this occurred but also , we can now confirm EP has made a lag super weapon able to cross incredible distances . Illuminati Dorritos . Those really hot red ones that stain your finger tips .
