CP Alts and Alliance Skills

Hi all

I recently restarted playing and have been enjoying the new CP system. I like how it is ACC wide and I can play my alts without feeling like I'm not really developing the power level of my account.

The new alliance skills really bug me tho. The skills aren't really fluff or replaceable by any other skills. The stam heal can make or break a build, and can be essential part of a build. To lock it beind 24ranks of pvp is really stupid for ppl with alts. Even on my VR 14 main I'm not rank 24 yet. I pvp bout an hr a day since launch up until last month when I took a break and I'm still not rank24. Having an important skill like vigor being locked away so far is really dumb. pvp ranks should be desirable and their passives being higher rank is fine I think, but a skill like a heal should be low rank. Or even have it that once you unlock a active skill on your ACC, it is available to all your characters. You still don't get the title or passives but active skills being available to alts of vet players or easily reachable by new players would help the game I think.

Thoughts?

Just making sure, your issue is that a powerful skill needs work to achieve? Or how long it takes to do that work?

There are changes to XP coming for Cyro next week, not sure how that applies to Alliance Rank as that may only be APs that give that.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

The issue is that after leveling PVP for hours a day, months at a time, just to get to level 24 on ONE character, some of the skills are useless for that character and would be amazing on another alt. For example, I have a Sorc PVP rank 24. Unfortunately, I'm running a magicka build, so Vigor is useless for me. However, I would LOVE to have Vigor on my Nightblade alt. Do I really need to grind PVP for hours a day months at a time just to get one skill on an alt? I've already done the work on my main. Do I really need to do it all over again on an alt?

You need 8 million AP to get rank 24. If you look on the Thornblade leaderboards, the top 50 players per faction make 2 million AP a month. That means that a TOP 50 player will have to play hardcore for four months before getting these skills. Now do you want to roll an alt and do it all over again? No way.

I think the problem is both what you said and also what s77 stated. I'm okay for powerful passives or replaceable skills needing hard work to achieve. But a skill like vigor is pretty essential, irreplaceable and useful for a lot of builds. Having to grind for months to get it. hell, if u take the 2mil per month on top 50players numbers. A normal player need to grind a year to get it. If the rank is ACC wide it would be more acceptable, or have a essential bread and butter skill unlocked at lower rank.

Having to grind a year to unlock some awesome title or powerful passive is ok, but to have to do that for a skill that is so important is kinda unreasonable.

I think all good rewards should be gated behind some kind of effort to achieve them. However ZOS is really making this game favor the folks that have hours and hours a day to play and leaving the rest of us behind. In PvP, at least with recent changes, there will be a HUGE power gap between the full time gamers and the casual, play a bit after work folks.

Try that for 8 chars. :/ 8*4=32 months of hardcore PvP. And think about what it would take to get them all to rank 50. That's over 7 YEARS of hardcore PvP. It'd be nice to get all 8 of mine to rank 50, but hardcore PvP for 7+ years just to do that just isn't my thing. Now if PvP rank was an account-wide thing, it'd be much more manageable.

i dont believe should be account wide
i think that we should only need rank 6 or 8 to get that self heal "vigor" skill
i have been heavy pvp since launch and im only lv 19 in alliance rank. my nightblade is basicly broken without that self heal skill called "vigor" i hope zenimax lowers the deman for it to atleast rank 8.

what bothers me also is that new comers wont be able to have that rank untill thier atleast 1 year or more into eso, and thats beyond un-fair to them.

You want it, work for it, so simple. Same like we all did.

In rpg games, characters become stronger depending on the time they are played.

Therefore, a character with more hours logged will have access to stronger abilities.
