I think the eso subreddit flies by the same rulesets the forums to (an agreement to ensure ZOS participation). Don't get me wrong, I'm as curious as everyone else and want to see these guys in action and see them get busted. But, if we expect to see the cheaters and their exploits removed from the game we have to be sure to follow the rules ourselves.

These players hide behind "The rules" which were created to protect against harassment and abuse by players yet just the opposite is happened. These players continue to play day after day and have for months despite numerous reports and the players being harassed are the paying customers who abide by the rules instead of exploiting them.

With all this said what *really* irks me is the fact that just lack week a group of terribles from Haderus that I regularly kill reported me so much my account was permanently banned for "Hacking" the game despite *zero* evidence of said hack occurring (I've never hacked or used exploits in the game). It took me a good two days and hours of my own time on the phone to get my account unbanned, and I still never received and explanation or a valid response on why I was banned on what precautions would be put in place to ensure this kind of abuse doesn't occur again.

This whole name and shame policy that ZoS has implemented has done nothing but give disreputable players a blanket to hide behind and obscure the visibility of any real actions on the part of ZoS to ensure that ESO remains largely exploit and hack free. I'm proof that if enough people report someone, they'll eventually get banned regardless of evidence. That these players still have active accounts is pretty surprising.

Reporting should start an investigation, not insta-ban.

Otherwise, next time we want to win the war in Cyrodil we'll just mass report every player in the opposing factions. DER, it's obviously a bad policy.

Well I wasn't officially Banned until the morning of the next day. I received an email stating that I was permanently banned for "Hacking". I responded basically saying that the accusation was absurd and that I demanded to talk to someone. I got another generic response from someone saying they did a "thorough investigation" into the matter and that there was "evidence" that I was indeed hacking and that my appeal was denied. The morning after that I was unbanned with no explanation or apologies with the time I lost credited back to my account. I asked for a clarification of why exactly I was banned and got some response that it was indeed due to players reporting me and some sort of system "Flags" that verified it. I know exactly which players have regularly reported me and I tell you the crap that they say I do to "hack" the game is laughably absurd. Like Auto-dodge rolling and stuff. What kind of moron would use a hack that automatically dodges attacks? You'd be out of stamina in the first 5 seconds of a battle. The fact that some GM or some person in authority actually believed them enough to follow through and ban my account was pretty freaking scary.

It really shook what little confidence I had left in ZoS at this point. I've spent so much time on my account, freaking 100 days /played, the majority of that has been spent in PvP. If some trashcan player can get owned by you and report you for "hacking" and actually get someone to listen and ban that person, this game is on worse footing than even I had thought possible.

Meanwhile, we have people all over the game recording and reporting players who actually *are* using hacks or at very least some clever exploits and they continue to play every day with no repercussions.

lol....an auto dodge rolling hack sounds like the worst hack ever invented for this game.

    You do nothing.

ZOS fully permits and protects cheating.

This player will not be banned, and this thread will be closed for some ridiculous reason.

ESO is a cheaters paradise. Best we all start getting used to it.

They really need to starting dealing with stuff. I think they got lazy when their player base was tiny and all sub and they seemed afraid to ban anyone.. now we'll see far more exploits with a larger player base, and so far, nothing has happened.

Those of who for the moment keeping our sub will have every reason to DROP if this garbage isn't rectified. Fix it ZOS. Please stop alienating your loyal players.

Mentioned this in another thread, but well worth repeating here. As per the newly revised TOS, Section 8, bullet point 8. "In an effort to continuously improve the Services, You and other players discovering exploits, cheats, cracks or other inconsistencies are required to report them to ZeniMax"

Over the next few weeks there's going to be a lot of old players returning and lots of new folks signing up. It would be a shame to see them discouraged by cheating and exploiting. I would suggest /bug in game with a privatized video link for ZOS to review. Remain polite, do not engage the cheater, and do not expect to ever hear a result of your reporting. It isn't information you or anyone else is entitled to, though it would be nice to hear a blanket statement from ZOS that they really do receive, review, and make the effort to see this sorta thing resolved.

Based on the fact that the same exploiters who have been reported multiple times by multiple guilds are still running around is proof enough for me that ZOS is doing nada. But hey, say a certain word here that refers to a criminal who commits criminal acts against children and you're perma-banned.

I sent out the video again to people who were asking. I've been tlaking in PMs to a few of you about whether or not he is hacking. I think it is pretty clear he is. Look at what he does at 1:10 and at 1:30. He sits there and does nothing while CC'd and I am hitting him for like 200 dmg executes and 240 dmg crystal frags. He has no shields up. If you watch my recount add-on dmg tracker, notice that the only time I break 300 dmg is when my Boundless Storm is hitting the NPC guards following me.

it is very obvious you have no idea what we are talking about.

months of evidence should get people banned; yet instead people get banned when there is NO evidence of cheating.

It is absolutly ridiculous and a complete joke in all honesty. I've stopped reporting players; the last time I did was about 4 months ago, and even then im not entirely sure if that perosn got punished or something.

I will say this again, I have seen this before, they know someone at Zen, there is no way they would not get banned in any other game, that is why they are back, that is why they continue to do what they do, in complete ignorance. That is also how the bug cannot be traced, fixed or whatever. I been playing games for a long time, what I have noticed is the new generation wants it easy, quickly and has no ethical aptitude to care. Kinda like how the new generation feels they have the right to do so instead of putting in the hard work.

I watched the video and it's pretty clear the person is doing something they shouldnt be. I don't know if it's an exploit or a hack (ie. third party program) but they basically sitting at 5-10% health, no shields, stunned and several people are hitting executes on them and they don't die. A second or two passes and they get back up, put a shield up and heal to full and bolt out. I've seen other videos of the same player where the guy making the video was hitting him with attack after attack and you could see it land and nothing was registering. FTC scrolling wasn't showing anything it was like the attacks weren't being made at all. This video was quite a bit older, they were only VR12 at the time, and it's the same guy doing it.

It is actually a pain in the arse to send multiple PMs because ZOS has an anti spam filter and I end up having to wait 2 minutes between messages.
