Need help, something bugging me

Alright so few things bugging me
Whenever I do something new, I get a popup notification window telling me about it or something.
Thing is I'm too busy doing something else, and by time I glance at it, its GONE, and top it off I cannot find any way to look at it after it disappears.

For example, I'm in Cyrodil, I die, a popup notification tells me something, about death in cyrodil? I wanted to read it but it disappeared so fast. I have NO CLUE on how to read it after it disappears.

Also, another thing, when I complete a quest or something, I'm normally busy thinking about my next move or something is preoccupying me. While I'm thinking all these notifications pop up, like you raised in skill xxx, you raised xxx.

I'd like to read it but again it disappears so fast. I wish there was a chat option or it showed up in the notification window.
I wish there was a history window showing me all the stuff that just happened to me. Like shows what skills I raised and what newb information just appeared for me. It really bugs me how it'll show and than disappear so fast.

Maybe if your a veteran and played this game for years its nothing to you, but I just started and want to read that stuff, I want to know what skills were raised, what raised and so on.

Also, in Cyrodil, I have no clue what to do, I go out and BAM death instantly. It's like these players are on a whole new level than I am (currently lvl 11).
I like the PvP part in MMO's, but I just don't know what to do.
I'm so used to playing GW2, where you follow the commander tag, but this its like I'm running around clueless.

I got a scouting mission because NPC suggested it, but its so far behind enemy lines and these guys hit like trucks, they just own me on sight.
Makes this PvP not very fun to be honest. Not sure why it makes me scout the farthest object especially at my lvl, 11. It should look at lvl and determine how hard of a mission it gives you to be honest. I just got in here and I'll keep trying to run all the way to that spot and complete it, but I got a bad feeling I'm going to be dying like 1000 times before I even finish this ONE mission.

I know Cyrodil is scaled up, so I'm basically as tough as the other guys, but I feel like garbage like I cannot even do any damage or even contribute, I really don't want to spend a month (of leveling and stuff, I level slow, I like to read everything) or more playing the game before I play Cyrodil PvP, I really want to get into it right away.

Well.... leveled up you still can't match most of the rest for skill options, so you will die a lot.

I'd say look for a group, guild or even call out in zone chat and ask for help. There are a lot of cool and helpful folks out there if you ask.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

I cant seem to edit the first post.

To be honest, this WvW, gives me the feeling like, if I didn't play the game at start I shouldn't even bother playing WvW.
Is there a way to show a pic from the computer? Like do an attachment that I can link to this post from my computer and not from a website? I'd like to show the supply mission I got, basically across the map lol. Its at Drakelow Keep and I'm the convenant,, I have no idea what servers were best to chose so I picked the 30 day server.

I don't understand the 30 days or any of that stuff to be honest, there should have been someone to explain it before you do it. I feel like I screwed myself because my server is low and the other 2 are high populations. The other 30 day server my server was full, so I picked this one.

But yes, very frustrating this is one of the main reasons why I wanted to play this game, but I die so fast from 1-3 people, and feel like a free kill basically. Very much demotivates me.

Frustrated I picked bad server due to being outnumbered, and that I feel like this scout mission is impossible and I assume its the easiest of them all due to NPC suggesting it. I don't even feel like I can contribute because I'm melee but I basically get owned so fast that there's no point for me to even fight anyone. Like 5 hits I'm dead, is that normal? Are you suppose to take more than 5 hits till you drop dead?

I'm in a guild, but everyone is pretty much V14, I assume people don't want to group with no lvl 11. Basically everyone in my guild V14, like theres no newbs, theres a few actually but I look at roster 44 people online, 40 are V14. I'll try asking in zone chat, but I get feeling nobody will want to group with a low level and no clue what to do.

Also, what is that 30 day stuff and guesting and making it home, I had no clue what it was, like if rest of my guild is home elsewhere, I'm pretty much screwed right? I wish there was some indicator showing where all my guildies are at, like what server, I wish there was something that explained that stuff to me so I know what I'm getting into. Basically all I got was a warning message.. "are you reallysure you want to do that... yada yada" "uhhh I don't know what it is, but yup".

If the mission (or any particular quest) is not working for you, then go to your journal page and abandon it. I don't know if you can get another one the same day or not.

You might try to find some PvP guilds to ask for advice (or even go online and ask in zone chat). I don't care for that style, so I'm not able to offer much.

That's the reason why this is a AvA, which means you need more people with you to be competitive in the alliance war. In saying that, a lot of people can go solo in Cyrodiil, but it requires coordination, carefulness and luck. Yes, you will die a lot and since you're at level 11 AND by yourself, makes you easy picking. Mission quests are suppose to be like that - it will send you to places far from you if it's already capped by another alliance. This makes it a lot easier if you choose an alliance that has a few keeps that makes transport between keeps a lot shorter.

Don't play PVP until you're at least level 40. ZOS did a terrible job of providing an even playing field for players of different levels in cyrodiil.

What about the notification thing? That is really bugging me too, I asked my guild and nobody knew.
Really bugs me when I level or something, like finish a quest or something and it says you raised in this and that or something of importance happened, you completed x. And I miss it because something is happening in the game that takes my attention off of whatever just appeared on screen.

Is there anyway to force it to notification log, or is there someplace its stored? I really want to know what just leveled up, what just happened to me, all those important stuff.

Press F1... that opens up the knowledge base. It should have the popup you saw, though you might have to go digging for it.

Kinda a RTFM situation, but now you know where to look for it.

    Ya that's the help screen.

Theres no way to see what skills were raised and exact popups that just appeared like, what death is all about in cyrodil. That's an easy one to remember but sometimes I get popups that I don't want to dig around for and hard to know what exactly it was. Also like quests, completed such and such and normally after them a bunch of things happen, mainly skill raises, and they all go by too fast for me. I'd like to see it in chat or in the notifications screen or something!

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood. So the Cyrodiil message, and the other tutorial prompts should be there as well. For tracking other messages that pop up, your best bet would be to find an addon that dumps that stuff into the chat log. I used to use Harven's All Experience Bars to track my skill line progression. I realize it's not what you're asking for specifically, but it lets you pin progression bars all over the screens for skills and their skill lines. Which can help keep track of ones you really want to know the current status of, while ignoring stuff you just don't care about. Though, the downside is it's messy as hell for your UI.

Like I just got an achievement unlocked, Slaugtered.

I was swimming, I assume slaughter fish killed me?

Did not see any slaughterfish around.

Very curious to look at the achievement description, I know it's going to be somewhere in the achievement window, but not everytime am I going to know if something across my screen is in the help window, or achievement window or this other window. I'd prefer that it showed up in the notification window. I never see anything in it, I don't see why they couldn't show the stuff that crosses your screen in that window. I don't like having to dig around to look at stuff, I prefer it show up in 1 place like the notification window.

Also, how the heck did slaughterfish kill me? Like how do I know if the water is bad or not. Very stupid, it could at least show fish in the water and what not, and not just 'oh your in the water, well your going to take magical damage from nothing and die now'. So stupid.

Another thing, if I sneak in PvP and it says Hidden, am I truly invisible/hidden to others? So hard to tell if others can see me. This zone is sooooo BIG, takes forever to get to the scouting area. Tried swimming there to remain hidden from others, but apparently water is poisoned or something. Wish they had option to ride in a boat or something, I really don't want to fight anyone and get mission done lol, because I cant stand up against anyone, everyone is like too strong against me, like if I was in a 2v1 I'd die/wouldn't be any difference in that fight.

I don't know what it is exactly but this game getting me frustrated. Like I want to see something but its not showing, like the stuff scrolling and disappearing fast on my screen.

I think it might be the thing where I'll be in cursor mode, and then all sudden I'm in out of cursor mode. Like I'll want to click on something, but them I realize I cant click on anything. I have to put the crosshair onto it.

Like the blue things on peoples names, I want to put the cursor on the blue thing so it tells me what rank that person is, but I cant, I cant get the crosshair on it either, and when in cursor mode it brings me into crosshair mode.

I'm sooooo used to cursor mode, I think this crosshair mode frustrates me lol.

I'm trying my hardest to enjoy this game but I keep getting so frustrated at these tiny things. I'm a very curious person, but this game its like all myseterious, something crosses my screen, you got this achievement... But how? Where did it go? Now I have to do some digging around and get frustrated because I don't know what section and what not its in. I see something by a characters name, a blue thing, wtf is it? Pissing me off I cant figure out what it is. I see this and that, no clue what it is, cant figure it out either. Making me frustrated. Not being able to click on it, not being able to find it, not knowing whats happening,, all very frustrating.

Also, speaking of Cyrodil, I'm having difficulties finding where everyone is at. And yes I ask for a group and nobody offers me a group, now how do I find where people are at? I wish the game would go over the map and tell you whats what and what indicates what and what not. Using a trebuchet and repairing walls, is a no brainer, I don't need time wasted on press e and now click on this and click e again. Prefer my time wasted on bring up map, this is a castle, castles do this and that, now this is a keep, keeps are this and that, you see this thing, that means people are over there, and this and that.

Another thing, when I bring up map, its fully zoomed in, I cant see anything, I right ciick and it zooms all the way to world map, I have to then left click to get it zoomed into only cyrodil. Frustrating how many times I have to click each time to see where I'm at on the map.

And purify, I don't know what it is, assume its something good?

I think my frustration perhaps coming from always being on the losing side, I'm in non veteran right now, but everytime I go into cyrodil, ALWAYS losing keeps, ALWAYS getting ***. It's like always trying to get with my group and all sudden I'm upon 7 different faction and I die. And its so hard to tell whose who too, that lil shield doesn't really help at all. Maybe takes time, but as far as being a newb, that doesn't help at all, most times so much is going on I cannot even see it. I'm just always getting pounded and pounded, like everything I do, its either too easy, like I kill mobs so fast it aint fun, or so hard it isn't fun.

Like I'm playing a dragonknight, game didn't even tell me how I'm suppose to heal myself, the people in my group don't even heal me, always spread out. Its like I'll get 10% hp and than be hiding around something waiting for my hp to get back to full for a minute or two. Makes me miss the GW2 everyone is self sufficient type game. Also, playing GW2, you realize that melee is not the way to go in WvW, I get same feeling in this game, if I run and melee them they gank me, if I stay in ranged area they just try and taunt me to get into there melee so they can gank me. I don't have any ranged skills, my fiery grip rarely even works too. Like is that skill unblockable or can people using block block it?

Just so much information that I have no idea what is going on.

Slaughterfish form a barrier around zones. It's what keeps you from swiming to Adamantine Tower in Glenumbra. You'll only run into them if you just try to swim out to sea. The only time they're really arbitrary is when you're trying to get to the Drowned Coast Dolmen. Good luck with that... or, just know that you need to come from the north in a straight shot down to the Dolmen.

Also, Slaughterfish have infested Cyrodiil. It's designed to force you to use bridges, which makes the environment a lot more dangerous if you're trying to move through enemy territory because you're funneled through paths your enemies will also be using.
    qsnoopyjr wrote: »

Allies? No. Enemies? Yes, except, some skills will expose you, like Flare or Radiant Magelight.

To be honest, Alliance Ranks are basically meaningless. It's not that someone is higher ranked than you in any real chain of command... though that might have been what the system was supposed to convey. It's just an indication of how much time they've spent in Cyrodiil.

With achievements... they're mostly meaningless. If you don't know what one does, just ignore it. The exception is if you're actively trying to get one. Sweating this is kind of pointless because it does not matter. Trust me, it doesn't.

My experience has been that large war parties form in zone, and then go off with them. Keep an eye out for swarms starting. PvPing alone in Cyrodiil is not really a good way to handle it.

Beyond that, keep an eye on your map. You should see little blast icons to show you where combat is occurring right now.

I might be misunderstanding what you're trying to say... but... the zones are each discrete. You'll never get a map of, say, Craglorn and Cyrodiil, because it's impossible to move from one to the other. They're separate zones, and moving from one to the other requires traveling through wayshrines and loading screens. The maps all kind of line up with each other, but they're different distinct maps, not one massive open world.

    To look at your achievements:

    Press J.
    Go to the Achievements tab.

At the bottom of the screen, you will always have the last achievements you got, so they are very easy to find.

If you want to look at the available achievements (and see what you have yet to complete), you can go into each of the categories.

Yes, slaughterfish are bad. If you start getting nibbled on, swim back to the shore as fast as you can! (I got that achievement in Bleakrock, pretty much in my first hour of playing...)

As for the map, mine will zoom in or our if I scroll the mouse wheel. Does that not work for you?

There is also a tab on the left that's called "locations" (I think!) where you can select the specific region you are looking for (if it's not the one you are in right now).

    I hope that helps.

I'd just like to say a big thank you to the peeps that have been patient and replied to the OP , I can quite understand how some things are a bit overwhelming and take some time and perseverance to get the hang of it all.
I've played since beta (stopped for a few months) and still don't understand everything exactly.
Once again , thank you all, this is why I follow the forums! :)
