COD returns...

i sent someone some goods by COD.
They havent accepted yet which made me wonder how long someone can hold it without accepting or rejecting the offer?

can anyone confirm how long the timer is? I've seen 3-10 days. Makes me reconsider sending bulk sales to people.

It is supposed to be 3 days before mail is returned back to sender, I did see this on the forums a while ago.

I waited once over 1 month, sent a ticket, and then got my stuff back.

I suggested they should give sender and an option to get the stuff back whenever they want.

I agree, If after so many days there should be an option that the sender can get the item back. The current system as it is, if the time elapses automatically, the sender will be lucky if he gets it back. He has to put down the date the item was sent and count down to however many days until it is suppose to return.

I have had to contact Customer Service twice already to get stuff back that should have returned automatically, but didn't.

ok so that's kind of crazy. I'm only out a few dwarven oil if the guy doesn't pay but I move way more than that. I think I'll just stick to face to face for now on

From much experience:

• 3 days if it's COD. So, even if you're sending something to a friend that's anything remotely of consequence, COD 1g and it doesn't go into limbo.
• No COD, it takes 30 days. ( @Sausage , @Nebthet78 ,@SHADOW2KK , @exiledtyrant , @jluceyub17_ESO)

This is indeed good question. Not first time someone has sent money with items instead of COD.

@NewBlacksmurf , @Syntse , absolutely. I do it all the time. Nothing like someone needing a stack of ____ and it goes into limbo and neither of you (seem) to see it again. 3 days later, of course, they likely no longer need it, but it keeps you from losing it.

The 30 day thing I know because I sent researchables to a friend and he accidentally let them time out. They got kicked back to me. It took me second to figure out why my friend was sending me gear my character had made. I then realized what had happened.

Try it out, COD something inconsequential to friend (tell them not to accept it on autopilot) and 36 hours later, it will get returned. Do the same with something else and have him leave it alone, period. A month later, you'll see it in your inbox.

I get items returned this way often enough that it sometimes fills my inbox.

EDIT (This works for character to character mails, system mails that expire after 30 days just lose the attachment, as there is no one for it to go back to.)

Not always in the ideal location or evolution to just run to the bank, either.
