So I had an idea for the game's lore...

I sent in a ticket about it and it was recommended that I post it on the forms

This game is fairly buggy and It has defiantly improved since launch but seeing objects be missing or having Ui errors or just general thing that seem wrong or out of place can take away from the role playing experience. So I thought that an easy way to remedy this is to have some source in the game or even simply have the lore masters or devs come up with a reason for it such as: "The amount of turmoil in this time is causing reality itself on tamriel to shift"

I was told that the devs care greatly over what the players think and to ask the community about it on the forms. So I'm wondering wondering what others thought of this idea or if anyone else has their own explanation they would like to share

cheers!

ps. is this the right catagory to put this under?

    Bugs? Nope, it's Sheogorath's pranks.

Explaining them away with lore would just draw attention to them even more...something that Zenimax absolutely does not want to do.

It doesn't have to be super obvious. It could be much more subtle like a book in game or notes by a researcher if you search the mages guild. Things like this that are interesting to find but take a bit of looking are part of what makes elder scrolls games so interesting

Sure, give Zenimax an easy out to never bother bug fixing again.

"We have added more temporal anomalies with this patch. Enjoy!"

I've been muted since November 2017 because of the whiny crybabies on this forum and the liberal ZOS employees coddling them.

    Bugs? Nope, it's Sheogorath's pranks.

So when there is lag in Cyrodiil we should be hearing Sheogorath's laughter? (hard-coded into the client to play when ping exceeds 500)

Or when loading takes longer than five seconds, the loading image is replaced with an image of Sheogorath and one of his anecdotes?

And everytime the game starts up after a crash we get a little cutscene of him humiliating us?

It could actually help if these issues weren't ignored but rather addressed and in a humoros way at that. I would like to get some auditive feedback when the game is out of sync. And I would also enjoy to get a reward for being part of a crash - some kind of rate lore bit or a rare content piece that makes you think you found a gold nugget. They could do a cutscene story in 20 pieces that only show when your game crashes, so that if it does, you are pissed, but then again curious to see that story evolve.

Well since Nirn is adrift in the Mundus you can tell yourself that it is causing things to go "blah".

    HA! awesome.

It's a nice idea, but I don't think bugs should be explained away by in-game lore. Happy to continue loreifying bugs on the forums though :) (The evolving "crash story" is a nice idea too.)
    • Missing objects occur when a temporal schism or dark fissure opens and sucks in the related object. The mass transferral collapses the fissure, and only an act of divine intervention can restore it.
    • Lag occurs as the Planemeld fluctuates, collapsing the local space-time. As space-time rectifies itself, you may find yourself in multiple places at once (rubber-banding).
    • A portion of Tamriel has been planemelded. We apologise for the inconvenience, and will have a replica region installed by Nirni as soon as possible. Note that Nirni has a very poor short-term memory (rollbacks).
