Guard bounty achievement

How do you get the achievement where you pay the guard, not the fence 1000 gold? Everytime I have over 1000 gold I'm KOS, which makes me not able to give the guard 1000 gold. Is it impossible, how do you become not KOS with over 1000 gold?

I though the achievement read, pay 1000 to EITHER the guard or Fence

The KOS rating drops faster then the bounty. So if you wait 10 mins you should no longer be KOS but the bounty will only drop a few hundred gold. (if your JUST over the KOS bar, not a mass murderer)

Also, I could be wrong, but I don't think the achievement requires you to pay that amount all at once. I believe it is a cumulative total, so if you pay off a 50 gold bounty here, and a 50 gold bounty there, eventually it will add up.

There are two achievements

One is pay 1000 in one hit, the other achievement is a grand total thing

Yes but there are two options,
I have the pay fence 1000 gold checkmarked.
However, I'd also like to have pay off guard 1000 gold checkmarked as well.

So my question is, how do you pay off the guard 1000 gold in 1 shot, as per the description of the achievement. (Unable to link it because http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Achievements_(Online) isnt updated to show the new ledgerman (sp?) achievements.

All I really want to know is, is it possible to pay the guard 1000+ bounty in one shot or not? I'm not sure if there was a typo or something in that achievement (broken? only one way and not 2 ways to get achievement?) but I'm kind of a completionist and I want to have both check marks in that achievement.

I got a 6k bounty and not KOS easy.

Killing sheep and the Shepherds in Khenarthi's Roost (looks like no one cares about them) you get a bounty (about 5k for killing 3 shepherds and 300 sheep) and I was still not KOS

Doing stuff bad in towns = KOS
Doing stuff bad out in the country = Not KOS

That should help you out.

I have a 570k bounty right now (down from 602k)... and I've been KoS since 1.6 went live lol

I got a little carried away...

I don't get it, I keep getting fugitive from justice as soon as I get over 1k gold bounty! I have the 2 parts of the bounty meter fully white and as soon as I get over 1k, it flips over to the third part and I get fugitive/kill on sight!

As posted above, if your committing your crimes in the city, then the KOS is what you get. Do crime out in the country, and you only get a bounty (up to a point I would imagine)

That is what I am doing though, there are no guards around, it's the quest zone south of Sentinel (water catcher quest), there are a bunch of yellow NPCs that I pickpocket and fail or get noticed to up my bounty. I do not kill or attack anyone.

That is a settlement, so it qualifies as a town.

Any tips for a DC zone then? I don't have access to the other faction zones yet and having a hard time finding lonely NPCs that aren't around any quest zone...

Are you trying to get the achievement or are you trying to do things and not get a bounty? If the latter, be aware of your surroundings. If the former, then go kill livestock.

Go kill the goats near the oasis's. South central part of the Alikir Desert. Just remember as your killing them that I think the goats are cute, so shed a tear while doing this.

Hmm, none of the goats around the oasis in Alik'r are justice flagged and all the posts in that thread are about livestock in cities. I just can't find a non town location that allows this. Whatever I do, I get fugitive as soon as I flip over to the third tick on the bounty meter, no matter where I am.

What level are you? It's possible that, since bounty scales with level, you need to be a higher level for 1000 to not go over the Fugitive line.

You have to get a bounty of more than 1k (I guess around 1.2k) and wait for the heat level to go down, red circular bar in the right bottom corner of your screen. If you are beneath a certain heat level guards wont attack you because you're not KoS anymore.

For the achievement where you have to pay 100k bounty to either Guards or Fence, I would advise paying it to the Fence because Guards take all your stolen stuff when you pay the bounty.

My problem was that the white bar would stay in the third part, making me a fugitive always. This happens when I'm around 1k bounty. I don't have any red heat, just the white consistent one. As mentioned above, I guess it could be level tied to the amount of bounty you get.

Edit: Just tested on another, lower level char. The white bar is indeed tied to level, I got a white bar fugitive at level 28 at around 600g, while level 42 is just short of 1000g. Oh well, time to level up some more.

You should reach level 42 pretty quickly, I assumed you already reached vet ranks.
