Transmog? Different costumes?

Are the new crown store costumes the only way to have any kind of armor customization beyond color? I LOVED the bosmer 1-24 medium armor on my Nightblade, and I HATE HATE HATE that it completely changes with the next level up. I gave her some arm tats and I can't even see them! what's the point of that? The costumes are better, but the ranger ones still cover her arms.

I hate the new armor so much that I'm keeping the lvl 24 hide chest piece through the rest of the game. The shirt with sleeves just RUINS her!

PLEASE, why can't we transmog? Or make our own costumes with gear we can craft? The game is suppose to be about playing your character your way. Why doesn't that include looking the way you want to look?

I agree. Only thing I hate more is the mud flaps (tassets). I bought the Crafty Larissa outfit just to get rid of the them. I'm stuck with a bland grey outfit that i can't dye but no ***.

With the newer updates to the game, a transmog would be nice.

Let's see what we got at the moment:
- Old styles being redesigned, looking somewhat like superhero costumes (light armor with breast plating, I am not a DC superhero!). No more belly or for males chest free shirts to wear while RPing. Everyone looks the same (boring). Whats even the deal with body scars or tattoos?
- The best combination for endgame is a mixture between dropped items and crafted items. The looks don't really match, making you look like a clown.
- If you want some extra percent of magicka or stamina, you need to wear 3 different kinds of armor. These often do not match up. E.G.: Light shoulders on heavy chest is just lol!

So, transmogs would be nice to create a unique and matching character. Nothing wrong with some of the costumes from the crown store, but I cannot colorize them, nor is it really someones unique style.

Please stop calling it 'Transmog" that's a WoW thing and we DO NOT want that type of system here, it's terrible.

Lotro's Outfitting system is about as superior as it gets.

Transmogrify is in the dictionary, so it is a valid word.
You are not speaking for everyone here, so "we" is the wrong word to use here. It's okay, if you have a different opinion, but you are not representing the whole community.

I don't care how it is done, but I want more then just a costume that everyone is wearing. And since I can "transmog" some armors to imperial style, we already have such a system in the game.

you want customization like everyone here, not transmogrification. or are you really saying you're happy as long as you get even the lowest form of customization?

even TOR moved over to a wardrobe system...

LOL, I guess WOW haters have to hate. Let's compare the system objectively:

WOW - you can alter any slot you like independently of any other and can choose to continue hiding your helm

ESO - you replace the entire set or nothing and lose the control to hide the helm

@RealRobD, How can you say "as superior as it gets" and try to retain any credibility? I get you hate WOW but your suggestion ESO is "as superior as it gets" is beyond laughable. BTW please don't suggest you speak for anyone else but yourself, unless you're using the Royal we.

@Krym, "lowest form"? Which MMO's method produces SUPERIOR results in your ability to choose any item for any slot you can legitimately wear?

TOR? LoTRO's 'cosmetics'? Both give the same result using a somewhat different mechanic but who cares what the mechanic is, it's the END RESULT that matters and in all cases, WOW, TOR, LOTRO (and others) they're superior to ESO's!

so it doesn't matter that it's a meh solution as long as it's better than what we have now? nice to see you want the issue resolved averagely instead of properly (which should be the frigging "end result", not a change from the status quo).

you might me cool with that, some are not.

and since you seem to know both systems, it's interesting that you obviously fail to see the benefit of a wardrobe compared to transmogrification...

also, with the wardrobe update in rift 3.2 I wanted to point out the changes between a proper wardrobe system and transmogs.

so, let's see:

- transmogs cots gold (or WAY more likely transmogs stones/whatever the way gw2 handles it). ergo it's more likely to be a paid feature
- transmogs require you to lug around all possible outfits you want access to - and I think we all know what storage in eso looks like.
- only 1 look. if you want to quicky switch your look it means talking to the npc/open the menu, redo all items, pay every time
- wardrobe STILL gives zenimax the option to monetize it (in much finer grades!). for example in rift wardrobe only works on armor, weapons are transmogrified (and require stones from the shop). zenimax could do it the same way, additionally with several wardrobe slots they could give away the first 1-2 free, rest cost crowns.

I'd much rather have them focus on costumes than trying to squeeze money out of it, and personally with transmogs I'd buy maybe 1 costume mog it and be done with it - so no more sales from me. with a proper wardrobe which gives me choice and isn't a pain in the butt to use I'm far more likely do buy more costumes (when I don't have to worry about storage and follow-up costs for stones).
