What to do after reaching level 50?

You recommend me as I continue with the same character and continue exploring the maps of other alliances, or is it better to start a new character with class and alliance different?

It's up to you, both are totally viable options. Once you complete the main mission you will have access - once you talk to him - to Cadwell's Silver then Gold 'missions'. They will open up new alliances for you to explore as if your character was a new character starting them (but at veteran level not level 1). Or there is Craglorn, which will be tricky at lower Veteran Rank but still enjoyable with a good group of friends. And of course there are always group dungeons, undaunted daily pledges, the war in Cyrodiil, and so on.

There really is no right or wrong choice. Just know there's still plenty to do in-game for your character once they've reached level 50.
If you can be anything, be kind.

As a player with multiple active characters (I am not an altoholic! *snicker*) I can tell you I have levelled characters through the alliances and it's fun, as well as a learning experience, if you choose to level a different class and fighting concept. I am finding that my VR character has a lot more in the way of fighting options for the same quests in Cadwells though.

Since you can do all of the different options it's even possible to do a little bit of each.

Personally I do both, all though I try to work it out so that I'm not playing the same Alliance with two characters at the same time.

The Main quest and guild quests are slightly different in each alliance and you do not do them in Silver and Gold since they are a continuation not starting over.

Getting from lvl 1-50 is much much easier than going from v1-14. So I recommend that you really feel confident with your class/race choice before going for the veteran rank long haul. If you really like your character atm then you should be continuing with Cadwell's Silver and Gold and working towards v14.

50, or veteran 1, is really only the beginning. You should ask this question again when you're vet 14.

    Do what you like.

Seriously, do the same things you enjoyed from 1-50. Some of the dialogue options available once Silver and Gold are unlocked are priceless...
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

At the risk of bumping an old thread, I wanted to ask others how to level a character from v1 to v16 if they choose not to do the other alliances.

I want to roll different characters to do those to add some variety to the game.

I've played little PvP so wondered if that alone would be enough. And what of crafting higher-level gear? Thanks.

If you have the dlcs, you could grind dungeons, bosses, and daily quests in Hew's Bane and Wrothgar.

    Thanks but I don't.
