What is the point of using Vampire? It is so very weak I am told?

I love Vampires and wanted to RP one, but the Fighters Guild passives and DK class in PvP wreck Vampires. On top of that, fire is EVERYWHERE in this game from mobs to PvP. What is the point of using Vampire anymore? Werewolves not get a 15% Stamina regen while in human form, with NO negative effects. THe only thing worth while with Vampire now seems to be Devouring Swarm and the Sneak Speed. As a Nightblade, Soul Tether is pretty good when adding in the stun on top of damage and healing.

I want to like Vampires, I want to keep it, but it weakens my character so much I am finding it hard to not cure it. Why do you use it? What pros outweight the cons for you? Vampire is PvP seems to be a rather bad idea, and in PvE I hear very bad things. If the only real benefit is Bat Swarn and Sneak Speed, then way take all the extra damage and negative effects? We are not strong, or faster, or anything like a Vampire that we all know from lore. Mist Form has been nerfed to much to be of use, and it stops any HoTs so that makes it even more useless.

Someone convince me to stay a Vampire and not become a Werewolf, lol

To their credit, the Champion System does allow resistance buffs to ailments that plague the beasts. So fire and poison (Vamps and Weres). It'll just take you time to build up and get those attribute passives stacked.

Play how you want. If you wanna be a vampire, be a vampire. Just be prepared to change your playstyle to alleviate the rampancy of fire damage throughout the world.

    It's do-able, just requires practice.

Enough so to negate the damage of fire to be tolerable? With 1.6 fire to vamps was brought down to 40%, but the also nerfed Dunmer fire resist a bit as well. So if I stack Elemental Defender with Dunmer Fire Resist can I withstand fire at a normal non vampire rate or ever close to it?

There's that too, find armor sets that accommodate your playstyle. More Magicka and resistances.

Vamp was in much better shape before the whiners took over.

They got it nerfed hard. Juts make sure you have a bunch of fire resist if you ever pvp or trials.

Its the way of things in MMO's. PvP was starting to earn its reputation as twilight online and it was always going to get dropped hard because thats how mmo devs tend to do balancing - knee jerk.

That said it'll be improved and contrary to some peoples opinions they do take feedback seriously (sometimes a little too much)

So like wraith said if you want to be a vamp go nuts! because I dont doubt Vamp will rise again eventually.

One ring of fire resist will solve most of the disadvantages of being a vamp.
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

Not from other sources I have read, they say stacking Fire Resist is almost worthless now

I used to be a vampire... ran trials and vet CoA (lots of fire in these) and only occasionally switched my spell power rings for fire resist ones. It was manageable, especially if you stayed the hell out of any fire AoE.

What bugged me the most about being a vampire was that for all the weaknesses it gives you (my HP regen was basically 0), there was nothing in it that was of any use except for the Batswarm ultimate. Given the changes in 1.6, we have to use our ultimates more cleverly. I used to be able to drop 3 Batwarms in a large enough group of mobs, using my high crit and AoE spam to bring it back up. So I gave up on being a vampire.

I think that is the way I will be going as well. Shame that I have to drop Vampire in order to be viable.
